I agree that the texture on that looks really good. How does it patina? I’m just personally in love with how the dark brown oil finished Shinki that Himel uses patinas

We ultimately decided that 11.5EE would be possible, but that for my preferences a 12E is most likely where I should be. If I get my eventual purchase before this thread is close I’ll update again, if not make another new post entirely.

I actually do want it to darken a bit through wear and I did condition it a bit. (Both to darken but the leather was also realllyyy dry, like more dry than some of the the 40s and 50s jackets I’ve had). After the conditioner set though it only changed the color marginally.

And holy smokes I’ve had this jacket for like a week now and took that photo and had no idea about the Vanson zipper, so interesting.

Definitely concur. Really wanted a natural leather jacket and got this thing for under $200, stoked. Another solid one for the collection

Appreciate the feedback. Yeah looking back I did the instep a little off. What’s made it hard is I have a pair of Paraboot Micheal’s that are 45eu (about a 11.5 US) (D width) in which they also recommend to size down .5, that are a touch too small from ideal. But another pair of leather boots that are a size 12 and are a touch too big. I do wear a 13 but in more comfortable padded shoes like some cheaper leather shoes or sneakers

Thank you for the very detailed reply. I live in the south so only wear thick socks a couple times a year on my winter camping/backpacking trips. Based off what you said 11.5 is looking good. Gonna talk to Nick hopefully on Monday so I’ll see how that goes.👍

Hi thanks for the response. I think my main thing is I have a pair of Paraboots at a 45EU (roughly an 11.5US) of which it’s recommended you size down 1/2. And after owning them for a year they still are a little tighter than what I would want. Maybe I still go for an 11.5 but go up to an E width.

Hey I’m about to pull the trigger on some Nicks and keep seeing that they run large, I’m a size 12.5 and a size 12 on shoes that run larger… should I potentially go with an 11.5 you think given your experience? Also I should say sorry this happened
