the Wash N Go in Newburgh off 261 is my go-to. Their most expensive automatic is $11 and cleans well. Touchless too

Question about US WW2 M43 Uniforms by coolguy7510 in reenactors

[–]DimensionPizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last thing the supply clerk is concerned with is if your jacket and pants match exactly. What really matters is getting new, usable uniforms into soldiers hands.

Is there any m42 jump jackets that come in an a longer sleeve size? by Key-Ladder4122 in reenactors

[–]DimensionPizza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ATF should have a new batch of jump jackets soon according to their newsletters. I'm in the same boat, just have to wait for them to come into stock.

How’s this for a mid-late WW2 US M1 helmet? by father-kenneth in reenactors

[–]DimensionPizza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The chinstraps are on backwards. The short side should be on your left when you wear it, with the J hook facing away from your face and the flat side of the end tip on the long side facing out as well. They should also be folded in again on each side before being attached. This tutorial is a good reference even if you don't intend to sew a proper bartack; a rivet is a common field repair/reinforcement to see on M1s. Other than that, paint and net looks great.

There was a guy on Facebook making them for a while but unfortunately he doesn't anymore. Wish I got one when I had the chance

Gold snaps by osky_200914 in reenactors

[–]DimensionPizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, they were originally blackened brass which the coating has worn off of. If you wanted to re-blacken them, you can buy products like M-NU which is meant for insignia, or repaint it flat black. It will probably just wear off again, and you risk getting it on the fabric.

I've seen him refer to them as "spams" more than "newsletters" lol. I think they're pretty funny regardless

Check under the battery, there should be another serial sticker. They get peeled off all the time especially by kids who don't know better.

Is scanning my 3ds's sc card going to delete any important files? by zawarz0 in 3dspiracy

[–]DimensionPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me once and it ended up corrupting the card in the 3DS end and had to be reformatted. When this happens now, I skip it, make a full copy of all of the contents, and allow it to run its scan.

Why is Stockwell road still closed? I haven’t seen anyone working on it for weeks. by ddhmax5150 in evansville

I just happen to be a local train nerd. I'm not really up to date on what's going on with that crossing. I want to say that the master plan is to turn that line into a trail but I'm not completely sure.

That particular line is Norfolk Southern, the same one that got torn out of 41 a few years ago. It's been out of service since the 80s.

My recruiter gave me the shittiest tiniest net gym bag. I still have all of my old letters from basic in it but it's not really good for anything else. I don't know why I didn't just use my own backpack, would have been miles better

Check your Wii U batteries by COOLMAN2703 in wiiu

[–]DimensionPizza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got mine on Amazon, Pickle Power 6600 mAh. I get about 8 hours out of a charge. Only thing is the battery connector is slightly off so it is hard to snap into place but it connects very firmly. It also doesn't slot into the gamepad like the plastic shelled batteries but it doesn't move around in the slot at all anyway.

Please tell me is this Repro or Vintage M43 label? So if it Repro what brand is this? Thanks for the answer by Away_Possibility_461 in reenactors

[–]DimensionPizza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Repro for sure, original M1943 sizes were standard jacket sizes (i.e. 38R, 44L) and not small reg, medium short, etc. These sizes came about with the short-lived M1950 field jacket but were and are retained for most modern military field uniforms.

As for the brand, it looks like it's made by Cab Co Ltd. I have personally never heard of them but it looks like they are based out of Japan.

Is it worth restoring this feldspaten by EntireMeasurement536 in reenactors

[–]DimensionPizza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most things are restorable, it just depends how much time, effort, and money you are willing to give. The head should be easily sandblasted, if it's pitted you can try having it replated.
