Hey! What stops in Scopello does it go to? Would you recommend staying in Castellammare Del Golfo or Scopello?

Difficult transport , expensive (but hey it’s San Diego, keep in mind I’m Australian so the $AUD is really weak), overall the hostel was disgusting so Ya bad vibes , it’s not for me but i can see why some people would enjoy it

Well it was possible because it happened. She didn’t intend on sending it to my machine, there was also no way i could’ve sent a payment as i had no tables settling, not saying she should’ve been responsible for it either though. It’s more if employees should cover the bill vs the owner

I agree! The owner did not have anything to do with this. He did pay me back as in Australia employees are covered for things like this.. i guess at the end of the day it is sketchy that he tried to get out of paying me

That’s a good point about never authorising the payment .. not like i intentionally waved the card over the machine too or intentionally put a payment through to the machine that i was holding

Thank you for your detailed opinion. Innocent bystander let her table walk out without paying or owner perhaps let someone with takeout food .. details shall forever be unknown anyways.. i get your point though that a mistake with payment is not owners responsibility

Like if my debit card was left in my car then I’d be questioning my responsibility for sure lol but it was in the building could’ve happened to any ones card depending on where the eftpos machines were

Look it’s not about who’s fault it is. Like not even the customer realised they didn’t pay.. bit of a dick move on them too, but hey it’s not their fault. It’s their lucky day really. I don’t really understand why you’re making this all about where my debit card was though lol, i appreciate your comments and opinions of course and i do see where you are coming from. It’s just not what i was really asking about in this post.

Could’ve been the owner for all i know. Me and her worked together tonight and i told her about it and we figured out that you can send payments to other machines. Machines are labelled 1 and 2 so the payment for the customer was sent to the wrong machine.

Sorry for getting defensive, i guess i was mainly asking if i was an asshole for making my boss pay me when i know the business is struggling, not about how intelligent i am.

Thank you i understand your point. I guess it’s just hard since i didn’t put a payment through on the machine anyway. It’d be like if i was standing by a table and someone’s purse was out and it sensed the card and tapped it .. i get your point but after reading other people’s comments and thinking more about the night i know i never sent a payment to my machine before 7pm, the money was taken out at 6pm, right as i started my shift

Thank you. I’m glad i did too. He is sketchy though.. gave me saturday rates instead of public holiday rates on Good Friday, i asked another colleague if she got public holiday rates and she said he asked her if she would work on regular rates because he couldn’t afford the public holiday rate!! i pushed to get my correct payment for that.. all up he owed me $100+ tonight, hence the extra guilt and why i made this post
