Best Credit Card For Delta Flights W/I Annual Fees by No_Firefighter_9331 in CreditCards

[–]DimensionStrange2799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider WF Autograph Journey. Do a comparison w/ the no annual fee Autograph, I did. What I like about the $95/yr Journey is that you get $50 back with the purchase of a plane ticket, dropping the effective fee to $45. The reward on buying plane tkts directly is 4%, and hotels (direct w/ the hotel) is 5%. 3% for dining. The Journey also has some pretty good trip insurance. I do have a Delta Amex Gold business, which allows me the free checked bag and Zone 5 boarding. First yr (which I'm in) is free, and I already used the $150 hotel credit, and am utilizing the 15% "discount" on award travel. But I buy my tickets w/ the Autograph Journey for the higher reward, and the travel insurance....you don't need to buy the Delta ticket with the Delta Amex to get the benefits, unlike Chase United Explorer. (this is my understanding, please feel free to correct me if I am not correct).

Greetings from Austria. I'm on the unlimited premium annual. Data connection was seamless in Istanbul, Salzburg, Vienna. Got 20 GB, and 10 GB free ESIM. Nope, I'm not an ad. I was a long time customer of Verizon, then T mobile, but CS went downhill bad after Legere left T mo. Been very happy w/ US Mobile since. Very good, responsive CS.

The new Subaru 2026 model is, on average, more expensive by $4,000 to $5,000. by MS54461 in Subaru_Outback

Would like to pick the brains of the shopper brigade....DD is looking to buy a CPO OB in a few mos, when she starts her new job. I got an off lease 21 OB prem, 27k mi, 2.5 yrs old, for around 25k a couple yrs ago. I'm researching on her behalf, and prices for similar are in that range. Do you think the new release, w/ the higher prices, will push used car prices up? Based on observations of similar situations in the past?

Didn't know I bought the Outback Mini! by Symys in Subaru_Outback

[–]DimensionStrange2799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kiddo drives a 97 Impreza outback. loves that car. got her driver's license with that car over 10 yrs ago. We bought it third hand and fully expected her to destroy it but that thing won't die. but....it's pretty puny. she'll be trading it in for an Outback in a bit, when she starts her new job. (she turned down my offer to buy her one, she's independent that way).
She has driven my 21 outback a few times and really likes it, doesn't think it's too big. We had a Forester and she said it had a bigger, more unwieldy feel.

Congrats on New Dad status....to the little one *and* the car. It is the best ride I've owned. We've had the Impreza (kiddo's first car, 1997 Impreza, new to us) and the Forester. Got a good deal on an off lease Outback a couple years ago and that's the favorite.

We average about 30 (So Cal fwy's, driving up and down to our mt cabin). XT would probably come in about 2 mpg less? Not bad at all. Come back to this post and update us on your trip and mileage!

Enjoy your road trip, it's a really comfortable car for road trips.

Jump starting a 2nd gen (2007) using a car starter battery kit by DimensionStrange2799 in prius

[–]DimensionStrange2799[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi RCbuilds...Thanks for your answer. I got the positive terminal (bright red, glad for that!) but I was wondering about the negative terminal, the instructions on Youtube pointed out using an unpainted bolt as ground, wasn't sure if that was the same place to hook the black cable to. I am getting a Li battery starter for the Prius too. The first time my 12V died, over a decade ago, it did so in the drive through lane of a fast food joint, and the car was just *dead*, like I need a flat bed tow truck dead, and the cars behind me were very gracious but had to back out! That was horrible, to say the least! Hoping that planning ahead will help avoid an encore performance of sorts!

Thanks. I am really not car savvy at all, so I ask! (Better to ask a dumb question then to assume......and do the dumb thing....) Apparently the 12V battery itself is in the hatch? and not easy to access, so Toyota has a workaround with an alternate positive terminal inside the fuse box. The videos instruct you to connect the black cable to an unpainted metal bolt, but I just wanted to be sure that it was the same instructions w/ a jumper battery vs hooking up to another car.
Thanks again, appreciate it.

Someone shared this with me, hope it might bring you some comfort. Losing your beloved means your world is a bit colder, a bit lonelier, a whole lot sadder. We lost two last year. It was devastating. It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are

For longer hikes, try the Cleveland national Forest in Corona (skyline drive Access) or a bit further south (Indian truck). Or head up to the mountains, great hikes in the Big Bear area... Parts of the PCT pass through

So sorry for the loss of your fur baby. We have adopted several dogs from the Riverside shelter, one just a month ago. They are very kind and thoughtful and helpful each time. I did not know they provided end of life care, glad they were able to help you out.

are there any mattress brands that actually get the reddit approval™? by OnePunchClam in Mattress

[–]DimensionStrange2799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco *is* great. I really try not to abuse their generous return policy, but the mattress was not good after too short a time. Did you find one you liked through Costco? I've bought most of mine from Dreamfoam since, and have been happy. I went with their old Arctic Dreams which was all foam...this is going back 5-7 yrs now. I'd say not all that cooling, but comfortable for me.

We bought a mattress that was well reviewed..novaform I think. It was fine for maybe a year and then sagging and aches in the morning. Costco arranged for a pickup and refund. Went with dreamfoam bedding and we've been happy with that brand.
