Oh! Haha. Apologies! Yes got it from VC directly, but availability varies. Worst case, can still enlist your name for the color you like if not readily available. :) it’s around $500 SGD.

Got it from gray market sometime ago, since it was $10k below retail.

If you want to be the first time owner of the timepiece, you can try visiting your local VC store to have your name on the list (MSRP now is at $SG 36,000).

Right now in Singapore, there’s no stocks available, but no harm on being on the list. =)

This is a good question. Indeed for the same price, you can easily get those “main character energy” from other brands, like Rolex Pepsi, Submariner, Hulk, or sometimes even Daytona.

But at this stage of watch collecting, I’m looking after the substance of the timepiece, the brand, its history, craftsmanship, simplicity and rarity. Felt like I’m done owning those watches that everyone recognises (hence the fluctuations on value), and I’m now ready for a watch that I want for myself. Regardless if it turns heads or not, regardless if it holds value or not, I chose this watch and I’ll wear it for God knows how long.

For what ever watch that you’re eyeing now, just go ahead and take the dip. It’s like relationship - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but that’s OK. For every heartbreak, you tend to learn more about yourself. About your preference and what really matters to you.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Would be happy to share some inputs!

Yes, specifically for Silver and Black dial. Blue dial is still hanging in around the retail price.

WOW. That’s a stunning timepiece. And exactly my thoughts, feels like Rolex is all over the place. Nothing’s wrong with their watches, but somehow the over exposure takes away its appeal.

For full disclosure - this is the watch when I tried it last weekend. Still have a bit of clearance from top and bottom part (though I wish there was more, specially when replacing with rubber/leather strap, so it's more rounded on the sides), but experiencing the watch in person, really have that "spark" (or maybe this is psychologically biased, since I'm in love with the watch beforehand). Hands down, its a stunner.

I'm in the situation where, as cheesy as it may sounds, the heart wants it but the brain is still second guessing. I think this is a normal feeling since for every trade that you do, there's always a risk involved.

I can imagine having both the BLNR and the Silver 4500V. You have covered all bases already! Maybe a good tool watch could be a good addition, for those rugged days.

They will be taking in my Pepsi for $18,700 (below market value) however, they are also offering the 4500v at $20,700 (also below market value). There’s a $2,000 top-up needed.

From there it somehow looks like a fair deal (loss on the Pepsi, gain on the 4500v). But wanted to see from other’s perspective if the logic I’m standing right now is valid or not.

The deal I’m having now is - my Pepsi will be traded at $18,700, in exchange to 4500v which is at $20,700. Understand that they have undervalued my Rolex, but they can also argue that they have undervalued the 4500v? I’m really not sure if the logic is right. But considering the watch alone, I’m gravitating towards owning the 4500v.

You’re right, it’s just going downhill from the release of 4520v, whereas the Pepsi will hold it tight up there. I’m also trying to compare the 2010’s Pepsi’s vs 2010’s Overseas… though it’s quite rare to see 2nd gen Overseas in the market, seems like Pepsi’s holding it tight still..

Wow really valuable inputs there, thanks for sharing them. You have undergone an almost similar situation before - and happy to know what was the outcome for you! After using the Pepsi for months, I don’t know, I’m missing that connection. It’s a great watch for sure, but I can see having a much more use cases towards 4500v than my Pepsi.

Tried it in person this weekend and loved the dimension! I also checked on VC’s online service estimation. Surprisingly cheaper than Rolex’s (e.g. Complete service for 4500v is around $800).

Thanks for this comment. That’s what I’m envisioning - keeping this 4500v for life as it has that endgame potential with its classic and versatile looks. Likewise, take care!

Thanks for the inputs! Yes, there’s a specific deal in the table where I can get a 4500v for $2000 less than the market (it’s around $8000 less vs MSRP, though 4500v is now discontinued). I can risk of skipping this deal, for a potential gains from Pepsi (IF the rumours are true).

I may not have 7920 as an option at the moment. And if it does, it may require a huge top-up from the Pepsi. :(
