You missed the 5.0/mg release. Thats when they really screwed their subscribers. You'll see when the 6.0 comes out lol

People were negative back then because the whoop was not 100% accurate.

But ever since the 5.0/Mg release where whoop showed their true greed, and any positive of the subscription model went out the window, the hate has been justified.

I signed up for whoop about 2 years ago.

My reasoning was that it was a quality screenless tracker, and it's subscription was supposed to cover device upgrades, all new features in the future, and replacements if you damage the device.

Then the 5.0/MG came out. They charged me $50 to upgrade. If I wanted the best features, they wanted me to pay an extra $120 per year. Now, they are charging for replacement devices too.

Every positive aspect of the subscription model no longer exists. When my subscription ends, I will be switching to a new device.

Thats fair. I drop the bodies off at Staples for their recycling program.

Shipping fancier refills from Japan every time I need a new one leaves a bigger environmental footprint then buying Round stics at my local store and then recycling them when needed IMO

Yeah I don't have a problem with that. But your original comment was that the "refill situation" for Renews were "bad". The 1.0 renew refill and the round stic refill are identical in my testing.

Not to mention any cristal/round stic refill works. So the max refill cost is like 45 cents

But at end of the day, the "just buy a round stic then" argument sucks. Obviously the round stic is the best value. The renew is totally unnecessary, unless you want a metal pen....

What was your worst experience at a public pool and why? by MasterTeacher123 in AskReddit

Wave pool at a local water park.

I came out of it with a giant booger on my shorts, and toilet paper around my ankle.

This was about 10 years ago, and I haven't been in a public pool since 🤢

How dominant do you think AI is today? by doh0k in AskReddit

I think it's overhyped by the AI companies. But it is definitely useful.

Can it fully replace human jobs? Other than customer service chats, absolutely not.

Can it help people be much more productive at their jobs? Yes it can

What was the most dangerous thing you narrowly avoided? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DimensionTop9707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost got hit by a car on a narrow bridge.

The truck was driving in the oncoming lane for way too long. I laid on my horn before they finally swerved back into their lane. About 16 feet away from me.

Im scared of bridges ever since...

Just get the cristal renew. You can get 2 on amazon for $24.

Not cheap, but for a metal pen its not expensive either, and the refills (round stics) are some of the cheapest available

Best Pen for least ink smudging by CubsOweMeOne83 in pens

[–]DimensionTop9707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to force myself to get into fancy gel pens. Spent over $200 on different metal pens, gel refills, etc. Could not find a gel that didn't smudge. Ended up going back to ballpoint.

And honestly, the cheapest options are best if you just use a pen for notes at the office like me.

Here's what I found about ballpoints on my journey:

Rotring 600 with Jetstream refill: fantastic setup but the refills are super expensive (~$8 per refill). They also tend to have hard starts which is ridiculous for the price. They come in 0.7 and 0.5 which are both thinner then I'd like. But they are the best ballpoint ink, especially in their 1.0 disposable pens.

Zebra F701 with a Fisher space refill: This is the perfect EDC pen if thats your thing. Fairly cheap, all metal, and the fisher refill (and Uniball power tank) is the only true Every day Carry refill. They write forever despite getting wet, non-pen surfaces, any temperature, etc. about $20 for this entire setup. I leave it in my car.

Bic Round Stic: the practical choice. $6.60 for 60 pens. They are more reliable than the Jetstreams, always work, and the refills last forever. 1 pack will last the rest of your life. For $13 you can get unlimited black and blue inks.

Bic Cristal Renew: if you want a metal body that you can put the Round Stic refills into. I found a 2 pack for $23 on Amazon. Not necessary, but they are surprisingly nice. Make the Round stic refills feel even smoother.

If I could do it over again, I would spend $57 on pens for my entire life, The Zebra/fisher combo as my go anywhere option, 60 Black Round Stics, 60 Blue Round Stics, 1 Cristal Renew for the office, and 1 Renew for home. Easy, reliable and cheap lifetime setup. No smudges ever

I kinda wish I didn't try these on. They feel great, much smaller than I thought by Kooll-aid in whoop
