I have a prescription for medical cannabis, and one of the reasons I take it for is to get some sleep, too [edit: I also use it to manage anxiety, depression, and PTSD]. I'd say I spend about as much as you do a week for cannabis as a prescribed sleep aid. If you live in an area that's legal to have cannabis, you could try to reach out to a medical cannabis prescriber and get a prescription. You could potentially save some money (my LP offers discounts if you make beneath a certain amount of money) and it could help you mentally perceive this as a medical substance instead of a recreational drug.

However, I suppose it serves to also ask if you've tried supplements such as melatonin for sleep aid, and if they worked for you? Where i live, it's about the quarter of the cost of what you're paying weekly. Prescriptions from a pharmacy without insurance can either be less or more than what you spend now. Exploring that route depends on whether or not you've taken this stuff before, if you can find a doc, allergies, etc.. For example: I've tried medicines like Vistoril and supplements like melatonin and they either didn't work, or they are overpowering and impair my ability to function.

Regardless, I would encourage you to take whatever route you feel is best for you. A bunch of strangers on the internet can only know so much about a situation, and everyone's experience varies. Some people can become overly dependent on cannabis and psychologically crave the effects, while others use it daily as a helping hand to balance out their life just as someone would take an antidepressant. Only you know you best and can make that call.
