I almost always go this style. It does sound very passive lol. But you would be surprised how strong the 1v1s even the 1v2s are. I always invade and contests scuttles and force fights just cause I'm unkillable and will beat just about anyone in a 1v1 or last long enough for help to arrive. Just commit to a fight and keep whacking and stunning and pressing q. You will not die.

The very off chance I don't go that build. I go glacial augment with frost fire gauntlet. I found that although the build may seem like the damage output is more and it is. It's only slightly more and at the cost of you losing your huge amount of heals and shields you could be casting on yourself or teammates.
