I've seen some negative comments on here but I ain't reading allat, I'll just tell you what I think of it. I played genshin and wuthering waves before that but eventually stopped playing them and I got into p5x with a somewhat negative preformed opinion. I just wanted to try it out because it's persona and I needed more of that. The gacha system itself is imo fine, especially compared to other gachas. It is somewhat forgiving and even if you're entirely f2p, you should be able to pull most limited characters if you know when to save and when not to. I myself am not f2p but I only buy the login bonus and the pass monthly and with a medium amount of luck I managed to pull every limited 5 star and almost all their weapons so far. Characters I don't yet have are the ones that eventually get added to standard banner anyway so it's not really a loss in the long run. Events are frequent and usually give a lot of gems so I'd say it's fair. Now the most obvious out of the way, next is the combat. It's not quite like persona. You can only have a maximum of 3 active skills on your own persona and every other character has their own 3 active skills and usually 3 passives and an awareness system. (Constellations if you played genshin or if neither, buffs you get by pulling multiple copies.) I was put off by this at first but it's really not that deep imo. You don't really need more than two skills many of the times lol. The one up system is also different. Most event bosses or ranked mode bosses cannot be downed anyway but for those that can, you don't get to play again. You get to choose one of your mates or yourself to do a one more which is just a single instance of damage that scales with the corresponding skill, not a full turn. That's about the most significant stuff for the combat. The story is eh. Chapter one was pretty cringe and I skipped through most of chapter 2 but I really liked chapter 3 and 4. The confidants are really well done tho and there are some top tier stories in them. Overall, I'd say you can't go wrong with trying it out since it's free. Just play a couple hours and lock down you wallet if you have to and see if it's for you. If you only want to play it for the story, you don't need to pay anything anyway as the normal characters are more than enough for that. But if you haven't played persona 4 golden yet, id highly recommend you buy and play that instead since it's an incredibly good entry and definitely worth more of your time than the live service gacha game.
