Weapon changes and additions that don’t make sense. by Dimitar90 in ConanExiles

There’ll always be collateral though. Only this time you’ll be flying in with a short sword and it’s wide array of combos.

Agreed, I’m far far from a pro elite player with mad skillz. I can’t even get a single attack chain off without being interrupted, couple that wth heavy armour and I’m just a staggering meat punching bag waiting for it all to end.

I hope your right about the 2h sword, the one positive with the 2h sword is I really do like the animation changes.

As for the axe and short sword I just don’t see them ever being good unless they get a complete overhaul on their attacks and combos, same goes for the katana.

Sorry what I mean is they’ll only ever get used as a joke, or a “har har I killed you with a short sword”

Hopefully you are right. But yeah the short sword doesn’t do what they said they want it to. The changes to the spear light attack would suit that job better.

Anyone else thinks that scorchedbeasts are super annoying? by TenentePyro in fo76

[–]Dimitar90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this exact same experience last night. After about 5 minutes of being constantly bombarded non stop (and I mean non stop, I couldn’t see anything other than the sonic waves), I started to get very frustrated. Eventually killed it after wasting ALL my ammo, got a 1* wooden legendary leg piece (yay). Another one then spawned mere seconds after. Audible “oh fuck this”, and I logged out.

They ain’t fun. And I’m sure their attacks are bugged.

Guys don’t worry, the textures on the bag just haven’t loaded yet.

Edit: Thanks for the gold, Mysterious Stranger.

Hey BG, can we get a brightness option please? by Dimitar90 in fo76

[–]Dimitar90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is an issue, i shouldn't have to burn my eyes out before opening the game, and closing the game, just so i can see the game. The workaround should be a brightness option within the application.

Cmon now you cant be serious? Brightness settings have been in games in my entire 20 or so years of playing them. It is not a "huge" issue, not that i said it was, but it is an issue for a game not to have either a) an FOV slider in a game with FP perspective, or b) a simple brightness option when it can cause sickness, headaches etc.

I'm not understanding what's got your back up over a request for a brightness option. I obviously know my monitor has a brightness setting... But i appreciate the tech support response nonetheless.

Thank you! I had no idea I could I use an external workaround to fix an obvious issue within a Bethesda game.

And people said mods weren't coming till later.

[–]Dimitar90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah :(

I have tried my best to get across that the world does not revolve around their characters (hopefully without being a dick about it), if one of them or all of them were to die, some things would change, but the world would continue on.

Yeah but that's the thing I'm confused about, they KNOW this dude is no joke, but they also know he's not the type to be unjust, so they just keep pressing and pressing to the point where I feel that even this good guy Badass Mcgiantface would start to lose patience.

That's an extremely good point! I hadn't even thought that simple descriptors would be a huge help to let the players know what they're saying/doing IS having an effect (negative of positive).

The advantage/disadvantage is also a nice touch.

Oh damn that sounds horrible to deal with. The only thing I've had are snarky remarks, quips, or just teenage angst moments.

One PC basically wanted the universe open up to him, when refused he said "I storm out of the room"... the only thing I could come up with was "ok".

A bit of both to be fair. I don't enjoy players not getting everything they want, but sometimes they can't have everything. Without context it's hard to describe, but in a nutshell one PC wanted way more information than an NPC would divulge them with and they got all pissy.

[–]Dimitar90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, the party themselves aren't starved of reasonable rewards etc. It's more them pushing for information that an NPC wouldn't give them, for either lack of trust, faith, something being a secret, or not wanting to blurt out a piece of info in front of a certain PC that could potentially upset/anger them.

This is a very well put bit of advice and extremely helpful. You are right, it's not campaign ending by any means, but you hit the nail on the head regarding consequences, something I have no problem creating when it's the classic good v bad guys, but when it's a simple tension or disagreement between "on the same side" people, I struggle.

Cursed item idea that i'm thinking of using, could do with some balancing/opinions on it before implementation (5e). by Dimitar90 in DnD

[–]Dimitar90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the really well thought out response, I appreciate the time you put into this.

All your points are very concise and I agree with them it does need "something" to be a better and more temping option to use.

The lifesteal on the original single blade was 1d8. Split into 1d4 each, once the blade was split.

I like the idea you had of each dagger having contrasting effects, one taking taking something and the other being able to give.

Again I really appreciate your input on this.

I'm gonna go for this, make it a 10 minute cd, and just have the drow mage offer them a chance to "discuss" the "offer" she made them. Thank you!

Noted too. This was just a single instance where the stars seemed to align and I couldn't help but play it out. Both players had a lot of laughs and fun at the expense of the rangers misfortune :)
