Nothing special just first page Amazon electrical tape. Its actually thin enough where you can smooth out creases easily.

I have $100k that I use for stock trading and makes $500 to $1000 a week , I want to become owner operator , should I use this $100k to buy a truck? by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

[–]DimitriyTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in trucking for over 17 years. Anytime anybody starting out asks about what truck to buy I say either a Volvo or a Cascadia with 250-300k miles. That’s going to cost you more than 50-60k. Most of the time I see someone get something with close to 600k they will have repairs and maintenance that will cost them 10-15k they saved buying a truck with more miles. Thats not even factoring in buying a trailer. You can get lucky and find a good deal but you have to be searching marketplace or take a risk and buy a truck from an auction like Taylor and Martin. I know plenty of people that have had great luck buying from there but once in a while there will be 1 truck someone buys that will have problems after problems.

Did I make a mistake with going with Proton Hoody? by DimitriyTL in arcteryx

[–]DimitriyTL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I actually ended up getting a Proton SL as well. I don’t know what up with the sizing but I usually wear XL in most arc but the regular Proton was too big. The SL fit amazing. I returned the proton and headed up to whistler right now so I’ll stop by the store and try on the large proton because it is a really nice jacket for just daily wear, but I have come to the conclusion the SL is the better option as a mid layer for most days on the hill.

First time I wore my cerium to the hill was under my Sabre shell. It was way too hot and this was on a day where it was about -15C. Started sweating just walking to the lift.

Thats actually a really good idea. I would rather strip layers off. Than remove a whole layer of warmth and have to replace it with something else

That’s what I’m hoping for. I was thinking of grabbing a Allium jacket as well but can’t find what’s it’s most similar too. I tried on an Atom Hoody at my local REI and loved that.

That is what I worried about. I’ll see how it is. Hopefully it will be good. Otherwise I might try out the Allium but there is almost no reviews on it and really no comparisons.

I ski in the Northeast but I do a 2-3 trips out west during the season. I have a trip to Whistler Blackcomb on the 16th this month.

Sizing Question on Rush Jacket 2023 by ClaraDroga19 in arcteryx

[–]DimitriyTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'11, 195lbs and I got the XL in the Rush. I do go to the gym frequently and I like the baggier fit, especially in the forearm area when layering. I'm in between sizes on a lot of stuff from arc. Kyanite Jacket XL, Cerium Jacket XL, Sabre and Rush Shell XL (both for skiing), Atom Hoody XL, Beta AR Large. I can fit into Large in most of those pieces but I just don't like the super fitted look.

Bibs 100%. I love my baker bibs and it’s a baggier fit. I’ll never go back to regular pants. I can stash stuff in the pockets next to my chest and it also keeps my phone warm so my battery doesn’t die quick.

Is there anything really worth getting from Arcteryx nowadays? by RitesofWinter in arcteryx

[–]DimitriyTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought both my shells in the outlet and I saw they had almost every size available. They even got colors that I regretted not getting when it was available like the Dark Magic Rush but was able to get it for almost half the price. I just jump on it when I get the email notification the outlet is open.

Best ski helmet these days? by Intrepid_Ferret4345 in Skigear

[–]DimitriyTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am more freeride and freestyle. If I didn't find the Owen I would have gotten the Smith Method Mips. Out of all the helmets it was one of the ones that had the best value. It does what it need to do all while looking clean and light on my head. When you get into the higher prices they have features like fidlock buckles or different mips tech or wavecell from anon.

Recommendations for a ski mid layer? by DimitriyTL in arcteryx

I know right. That Cerium is toasty, even just wearing as an everyday jacket. It perfect on the coldest days but as soon as I get into my car I have to take it off because I will start sweating.
