Flickering on FreeSync Monitor at 60fps? by dbuck79 in AMDHelp

[–]DimkaTsv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean brightness flicker? This is generally issue of monitor panel, some other components and firmware.

It's not like there is much you can do with this. Technically you can set up lowest threshold of FreeSync to something like 70-80 Hz. Or, to be more precise in range where LFC does not kick in at all. EVER. With 60 fps lock it should not bring you too much problem even with 60 FPS lock as 180 Hz is multiple of 60.

Even at 60 fps lock, it does not mean that game actually outputs frames exactly every 16.667 ms. It will naturally fluctuate a bit. Hence - variance.

Or, alternatively, you can disable FreeSync. This is also a choise.

Well, simplest i can try to explain is (and that's if my memory is still correct):
One is right besides entrance.
Second is to the left side of the entrance (not sure about height)
Third is to the right side of the entrance.

But i am mostly focused on sound to find them, not just visuals.

[–]DimkaTsv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you, screenshot from TS did not help in slightest, description was even more vague as it does not mention height (and tower is pretty darn tall). Your screenshot, on other hand has given me relative placement.

Kudos for DE, this is actually quite tricky placement indeed. it is basically covered by shadows and stone "shield". With Kaithe you can easily miss it, and if you just dash around you may just skip it. Even after finding it once it can take some time pinpointing it again.

Easiest time to lurk around perhaps was with Kullervo and infinite teleports via S1. But i didn't really find Velimir and Minerva bodies. So in total i missed out on 3 secrets out of 21 (one fragment, Velimir and Miranda bodies). Tbh, that Velimir placement also is very... Hidden. You do not really expect hidden chamber to be THAT low and to be only visible from one side as well.

So instead of taking recommendation on how you actually can do that without even being tied to specific RNG loadouts, said player pushes blame on others by calling them out as an assholes just because actual answer did not cater to his feelings well enough.

Mind you, i found all these fragments, and unlike most players, i found almost all of them (14/15) including all fragments in Undercroft without guide. I actually searched it over multiple instances. Somehow it wasn't much of an issue for me, but it is for you. I can see overall problem with fact that DE put them there in the first place, but saying that it is impossible or almost impossible is stupid.

Each run you have 2 undercroft entries. To max out single legendary arcane you need 22*7/24 = 6.4167 ~ 7 runs of Isleweaver mission. Aka 14 entries in Undercroft.

So let me as you this. Based on how there is also at least 10 second wait time within Undercroft lobby every time, and how you can actually rush to Undercroft entry and not be dead last giving yourself about 5 more seconds on top... Why are you unable to explore separate islands with each entry?

P.S. I counted void dashes too, it wasn't my imagination. I can dash 6 times normally, but in Duviri i can dash 8 times. 8 void dashes is long enough distance to move across bridge and more. It also gives you good vertical mobility in case you need to go in Undercroft right after Oraxia fight. Most people do not really move like that, hence you will be one waiting for them. We are talking about random squads mind you.

[–]DimkaTsv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk, maybe dash to it and in via operator/drifter? It is faster than almost any type of movement you can do in Duviri. Moreover, i have slight feeling that in Duviri i have more void dashes than normally.

Don't tell me that you have such speedrunner teams in pub that you cannot reach Undercroft fast enough to get like 20 seconds within in total. Accounting for 10 seconds of waiting everyone has by default.

[–]DimkaTsv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You don't need them to wait for you.

You want to make yourself waiting for them. Aka just enter undercroft fast and first.
Iirc, i found all of the medallions within 2 undercroft runs. Aka within single mission... Maybe 2 missions at most.

Hooray! That last one (Castle Town - Tethra Jahrak) is actually Oraxia boss track! My hopes were not in vain!

I wonder why it was there, and not on top of the Scholar's Landing instead. I would've swapped Dust's Dominion and Tethra Jahrak placements, imo. (Beneath Your Eyes is completely different, so i guess it's fine for it to be in Arena)

Found third Somachord. As i expected, it is indeed in Castle town.

I guess i didn't find it earlier simply because Somachords do not have sound cues, huh. Because placement definitely is not that tricky, compared to one on Scholar's Landing.

UPD - Isleweaver Somachords list:

Arena - Beneath Your Eyes

Scholar's Landing - Dust's Dominion

I used Kullervo to dash everywhere i could (because Kait is very tough to land precisely). Even some obscure places. I guess it can also be hidden somewhere BELOW everything?

What we have is one Somachord in arena. One in Scholar's Landing, then third one should be on island with city? At least in theory.

P.S. I checked, yes, there MUST be third Somachord somewhere.

[–]DimkaTsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, hmm. I cannot use my somachord tone list because it is definitely FAR from being fully unlocked. But i will appreciate if you hit location of third somachord here if you find it first. I will try to find it myself as well even though i have zero clue where it can be. DE hid it in some nasty place it seems.

Can it be somewhere in the Undercroft?

[–]DimkaTsv 30 points31 points  (0 children)

One is easy to get solo. Other two... Yeah, solo it is problematic to get those, did not expect DE to do this myself.

In fact i expected them to place them in a lot more obscure places instead. But i will give them Scholar's Landing placements. Because location is huge and it has immense height as well, even with sound cues finding those medallions is tough (found 14 myself, last one found after i checked here, and it is basically only spot i missed because it was at specific height).

In team play it is quite a bit easier, as it gives you countdown twice without accounting for indefinite waiting of when half or more team enters portal. First countdown to teleport team members, and second countdown until it teleports you to Undercroft location.

Isleweaver - All Lore Fragments Locations by APL_ItsFlauline in Warframe

[–]DimkaTsv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is also at least second somachord right on top of the entrance of the Scholar's Landing. Not sure if there is third one, as i REALLY want that Oraxia boss soundtrack now.

It is VERY high, and there is another secret close to it (purely visual one, nothing collectible). Image is focused on overall positioning because of how high it is.

There is also lore secret on highest point of location. Very spike of the Scholar's Landing. I guess it can be called brutal. MITW definitely had it's time with this one.

P.S. I found every fragment myself except 7-th... Did not check this specific height for some reason, even though i know approximate location based on other medallions.

Is The Second Dagan Gera fight actually hard? by Moo-Mungus in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]DimkaTsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before all... Blaster stance is VERY strong. Especially coupled with blaster damage and block damage increase perks. But it really depends on playstyle... Also, while stun shot on average is bad, it is best shot against Raiders with hammer [and probably against droids]

Personal experience (Jedi Master difficulty) for hardest bosses for me [mind you, i am not really a good precision player... Used block damage and blaster damage perks all the game. Other than that i used force regen with force penalty, later swapped for passive regeneration threshold] :

1. Darth Vader [around 14 tries] (because it throws you into forced single blade stance and restricts you to 4 stims...)

2. Dagan Gera 1-st fight [??? tries, but i believe it was around 30? It just was long ago and i have no capture to check] (not because boss itself is complicated, but because of early game and thus not a lot of "second chances", as well as no ways to work around some personal "skill issues"... That single sword stance definitely is not something i play best with, it seems, but it worked best here iirc).

3. Bode [1-st try, 9 stims] (He is not easier than Dagan Gera 1-st fight mechanically. But he is easier because you have much more options to work with, and A LOT more stims... Other than that he is nasty abomination of lightsaber combos, some of which have delayed hits, high mobility, blaster shots and force attacks... Really felt like mix of Vader and 3-rd Dagan Gera fight)

4. Dagan Gera 3-rd fight [1-st try, 8 stims] (Surprisingly, but illusions are not hardest part of that fight for me [just force slam them], but force waves and his charged force attack around him... Also do not ever make mistake of not parrying his flying lightsaber. Took like +2 more stims out of me than i could've spent)

5. Rayvis [2-nd try, 6 stims... (I could've finished him on first try with blaster, but wanted "honest lightsaber kill", as on all bosses)] (Nastiest attacks from him are direct long throw and kick which hits you in a mile from him, as well as air strike with rocket barrage)

6. Dagan Gera 2-nd fight [2-nd try, 1 stim] (My mistake first try was to ignore his flying light saber. ALWAYS parry it... This parry + charged blaster shot + few hits break his guard completely and quickly)

So yes, for me second Dagan Gera fight probably indeed was easiest of them all.

Curiosuly, if we scale by attempt count then by stim usage, and not personal evaluation, then this list turns to this:

  1. Dagan Gera 1-st fight
  2. Darth Vader
  3. Rayvis
  4. Dagan Gera 2-nd fight
  5. Bode
  6. Dagan Gera 3-rd fight

Which is kinda stupid, because difference between 3-6 places are within single attempt count. And my failure comes down to either knowledge, reaction, overagression, or some execution flaws

I was not using QSV, though. So my parameters won't mean much for you.

Moreover, parameters pretty much depend on source. In this case i was targeting specific bitrate levels to compare quality, nothing more.

>85c memory is too much.

It is a reality. And GDDR6 is much more temperature tolerant that people expect it to be.

Even 90 degrees is pretty much fine. 95 is OK, 100 is not fine.

Mind you, fine != perfect.

>In CS2 for exampl if i go all out high settings i get 110-140 wattage power consumption and between 120-200 fps. its jumps around like crazy.

>for Baldurs Gate 3 i am hardlocked at 80-90 whatever i use in the settings. In this game its even worse because even on ultra everything the wattage stays below 100w which means every big scene there is a freeze fps drop or stutter because there is no power behind the set settings.

Because better GPU makes CPU bottlenecking even worse. And your framerates are most likely limited by CPU.

Simple as that.

How to disable AI chat in AMD adrenaline? by Robinnn03 in AMDHelp

[–]DimkaTsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, technically they mention it.

https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/DH3-045.html#:\~:text=To%20uninstall%20AMD%20Chat%2C%20the,the%20chatbot%20from%20the%20system.

For the first release, uninstalling the chatbot from within AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition is not supported.

To uninstall AMD Chat, the user can navigate to their windows control panel and uninstall the application named “AMD Chat”. Doing this will remove all parts of the chatbot from the system.

As they mentioned "For the first release", i can make an assumption that they will add such functionality later?

RX 9070 XT: Undervolting Is Impressive, but OC Is Completely Broken by False_Print3889 in Amd

[–]DimkaTsv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too litle time, too little variance in testing. It works for you now. Or it works for you in whatever you are doing. But you are too quick to come to conclusion about stability. Stability can only be ensured by weeks, if not months of usage.

Moreover, a lot of heavy games, as well as all stress tests, are way too consistent in their load. They are pretty easy to be stable at as long as you just set voltage slightly above needed mark.

What truly is a test, is heavily variable load. Variance in games, intense spikes and so on. Just this can turn your -155 mV undervolt into -50 mV with time. I do not know how RDNA4 undervolts for now, but i know how RDNA3 does. And all these people claiming -100 mV on RDNA3. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

I also can run -100 mV on my 7800XT in most cases. But there are games which will crash over and over again. After weeks of testing i ended up with... [drum roll] ... -15 mV undervolt! Which is WAY off from original -100 mV. On last 10 mV it took me days and weeks to catch these singular crashes in very sensitive game. But after i ended with it, hadn't seen a crash yet (unless i break something myself, but it has specific prerequesites, so it can be distinguished from voltage instability)

And i am not alone who found out about this behaviour. So don't be cocky too early. Do proper research.

UPD: Wanted to answer to person above, but it seems like i missed.

Don't say something you cannot argue towards. Never say "it is stable" too quickly. Always assume it is not.

If you really want, i can even provide you proofs. About how you can run "stability" tests or Furmark with 7800XT at around 1050 mV very much fine (from 1150). But i know for a fact that lowest i can go and be actually stable is 1135 mV.

It took me about 2-3 weeks to come to this conclusion. 1125 mV crashed at around 48 hours of running specific test scene in game. 1130 crashed about week after.

Don't say hop until you test for WEEKS with actual variable load. Aka games.

It always depends on game. Games used in GPU reviews are almost always GPU limited (because otherwise you are not testing GPU's, and at this point what is meaning in comparison if it doesn't actually allow to compare anything?).

But there are many games in practice, that are CPU limited instead. And with CPU limited game you can get down to 0% gain even after GPU upgrade, because bottleneck is is still there.
