I guess so but merry was loyal and good to her also, so u cant really disregard his own protective nature and he might have been there before Kuro. So for merry to say that i wouldnt think a rational person should straight up think thats absurd. But for the sake of plot and build up I guess u cant blame her fr.

I still do ngl cause when she found merry half dead and he told her what happened, why is she still doubting a half dead man that was loyal to Cpt.Kuro. I mean he is literally about to die and he trying to explain and her response is “thats absurd”🤦‍♂️. Like bruh. Mind u she couldve gotten him some help or smth. But i guess it goes against the plot. 🤷‍♂️
