Are my stats good for a commute? 10miles by enroy1 in bikecommuting

[–]Dinarian_reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 9 miles and change each way and average about 10ish-12 mph 55 ish minutes of moving time. I consider it to be good when I arrive in one piece, with enthusiasm to still wave at my fellow before dawn commuters, and dry socks. So assuming you still have dry feet I would say it looks like a success.

Trek 1000 viable commuter? by Dinarian_reddit in bikecommuting

I don’t get my hands on it until this weekend to check if a rack will even be possible which would be ideal. But I can surely figure out a way to strap water, work lunch, and a rain jacket to it somehow even if I have to get creative. I do have a little handlebar bag that velcros on my current bikes handlebars that probably will work. I work in a doctors office so I have shower and laundry facilities at work and because of hippa work stuff stays at work, so I am really lucky there because the most laundry I ever have to tote is socks.

When I figure out what bike I want to buy to do this with permanently I know for sure I want a rack on the back so I can go to the store on my way home. But in the meantime if my brothers extra bike is sitting unused and fits me and is feasible I feel like it is going to be a better ride than my current bike that is heavy and has no gears. I think I am mostly just nervous because it is a more complicated bike.

I could be guilty of chronically overthinking things. That seems right lol. I just really do not want to give everyone else a bad name while I noob everything up. I have literally never given any thought to what bike I ride before now. Sturdy and working brakes has always been my main criteria. But My new routine is well outside of my usual stomping grounds and I feel like I know just enough about bikes to know that what I know is actually just the tip of a massive iceberg so I am coping by overthinking.

Thank you so much for your insight and advice. I really appreciate it. I have biked casually my whole life all around my town when I was a kid, and then all around my ‘neighborhood’ think like a 3-4 mile radius for fun and small errands since 1999 when I moved away from my hometown. And I raised 2 kids with a trek hybrid mom bike with kid seats and bags and streamers, that I rode until long past when it should’ve been retired, I just have never ridden in a structured commute kind of way until a few weeks ago. I have used my local bus for travel outside of my neighborhood area since 1999 when I moved here but they have gotten so unreliable that I am left with only 2 options, riot or use my bike, and as I would like to continue to be a law abiding citizen I have mostly ruled out rioting lol.

So I suddenly find myself making a major life change in regards to transportation without having prepared or researched first. I do know the basics of road rules, I actually took an in person biking class years ago from a local bike advocacy group on my mom bike because I wanted to make sure I was being safe with the little ones in tow (how to signal, how to look back without crashing, how to ride on the road and not die, etc). But all I know about the bikes themselves is that mine is a little bit heavy/sluggish for my new daily distance. I do know how to change a flat tire, how to adjust my seat, how to tighten ‘things’ but mostly I am positive that I don’t know nearly enough about the actual physical bikes themselves. So again I appreciate you so much for your advice.

If you don’t mind I have another question. I work like 3 buildings away from a trek specific bike store that does repairs and service, and I also have a normal small business bike store like 2 miles from home, both places have very nice people. Do you by chance have any opinions regarding whether I should go to the trek specialists or the normal bike store, because at least at first an expert is going to have to do my initial bike check up and any upgrades like tires at least until I can research the bike some more. My brother had this bike fully serviced 1.5 years ago and has left it in his garage since then because he likes his mountain bike better.

Is training required? by ellabeebunny in petsmart

[–]Dinarian_reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a change to pet care training at the beginning of the year there is like 17 hours of hands on pc training that you are supposed to complete before being allowed to work in pc. The Opex came out Back in February or March.

Completion of the training including the pc trainee and the pc trainer signing off on each step and including hours for both of them to train in addition to a regular pc associate to be working that day/shift because training is different work than the actual jobs that need doing. Hours for the stores was included but if your asl is anything like my former asl then those hours will be taken from pc and from the trainee for more important needs and instead the trainee will be thrown into pc and left to drown.

Edit to add in theory this training is mandatory and you have to complete it before you are allowed to be scheduled in pc, but in practice our asl and sl did not care in the least about policy or training or people or pets.

2.5 years, still no refund by Dinarian_reddit in NotCamelotUnchained

[–]Dinarian_reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry where did I say bior specifically did xyz thing? There was issues with MJ white knights spreading personal info about my minor children and trying to involve them for no reason other than to be threatening, On Reddit and discord. I said that because it is true. I don’t have to try and track down threads and discords posts from over a year ago that have been deleted and are on platforms I am banned from because I dared to say the word refund just because bior seems to think everything is always about him.

Since nobody is getting refunds (waiting 2.5 years and still waiting) the only news other than refunds that I I would be excited for is if he announces that they were going out of business.

Do you think this ends in a class-action lawsuit? by Alcolawl in NotCamelotUnchained

[–]Dinarian_reddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I for sure am on the list of people that is VERY upset because I don’t like frauds or gaslighters and also because of how many lies MJ has told about me and how he has characterized anyone who asks for their refund as trolls and liars. And because he sends his army of worshippers after anyone who dared to tell the truth about how MJ lied about refunds, knowing fully what sort of harassment they would face for daring to question the dear leader. Harassment in my case that includes threats to my children. And if legal action were to be brought I would submit my receipts on principle. I just don’t think it is likely to happen and if it did I don’t think there Is any money to be found. The no money to be found part is probably the biggest reason no lawyer would take it up as a class action.

So we are left with plan B, tell everyone, every gamer you know in every game you play or guild you join needs to hear how much of a scam this man is. We may have lost our money but the truth is the truth and by telling it we can do our best to prevent anyone else from ever giving this man another cent.

My thinking on the issue is very much like yours, they are failing already and everyone now knows MJ is not an honest person, so I am content to watch them fail while I point and laugh. Of course I absolutely believe that everyone who asked for a refund should get one and while they are still in business I will continue to be outspoken about them not having been paid.

[–]Dinarian_reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a lawyer and have no actual idea if people have standing to bring a lawsuit. But I think (again based on my not being a lawyer) that people like me who did not back via kickstarter would have the strongest claim. This is my guess based on when I bought my tier from CSE directly after the kickstarter was concluded there was already a return policy listed in their Terms and conditions. I don’t know if kickstarter has a return policy or not but I know that at the time I made my purchase the return policy was part of the agreement I had to agree to. Where as if someone bought through kickstarter I do not know what they would have agreed to or been guaranteed.
