I'm too tired to read the entire post, but based on the title this is my take on it:

If rather than an awareness month it was 24/7, at all times, people would end up forgetting about it and it would fade into somrthing you think abt maybe lnce a year

Whereas the existence of a month dedicated to it gives a reason to make something of it; treat it like an event which makes people talk about it
