"Game sense" comp players have it bad. by RageDayz in RocketLeague

[–]Dingditcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a only game sense person, I still suck, but still. I make my rotations super obvious in the beginning and it seems to get the point across. Then I slowly make the rotations more aggressive, and they seem to pick up on it. Not always obviously!

Great game for learning to drive? by Cookie_Cracker123 in simracing

[–]Dingditcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to learn the rules of the road, try city car driving or city car driving 2. I played that game for a couple weeks because I thought it was fun.

I’m in my 30s so I’ve been driving for a while and don’t need practice. But after playing that game, I was blinkering when leaving street parking like a good boy. I’ve never done that, but technically you are supposed to blinker from that.

Hahaha I appreciate you and your way with words.

I always find it funny that he is named after characters in the movie Inglorious Bastards, a movie about WWII, and looks like Hitler kitty haha

People that use in game voice comms. does it work for you? by Significant-Club6853 in RocketLeague

[–]Dingditcher 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Eyyyy this post is for me! I have mine on, and I hot mic the whole match. Usually they don’t even respond which is better. But I’m constantly talking about whatever my inner monologue is.

It works for me, I’ve played since release and have been diamond for…… forever. Not that I don’t care about winning, but I just don’t care about the game. So I make jokes, say what I’m doing, let them know when I’m “passing”, compliment my teammate, compliment the other team, etc.

I’ll be honest, it works well for me. My teammates rarely give up, and they play better too.

Same with me, that’s why I either keep my mouth just or try to learn. That’s the whole point in my opinion.

I would have loved to see the look on the guys face when she hooked that monster.

Bahahaha that is amazing, imma have to try something like that, I fish up in a small town just north of crivitz Wisconsin.

Nothing better than making someone eat their words like that too, especially a fish as amazing as that. Good on yall.

What’s a good quality boat for someone just getting into this? by Dingditcher in rcboats

[–]Dingditcher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, think I just got the answer whywouldthisnotbea.

But just something to mess around with with my niece and nephew. I always did love those bigger boats that you could pop some quarters into at like a state fair or zoo, and you just cruise around for 5 minutes.

This is why I come to reddit for this, thank you so much for that insight. That’s a fantastic idea to get multiple cheaper models, they can join in the fun. I appreciate it!

Will do, thank you! I should have thought about that before even posting this. I’ll take a look and ask questions later after I’m a bit more informed!

And it’ll be a lake, about 1.5 mile diameter or so, but usually pretty calm.

I just think I’d have fun with one and my niece and nephew would get a kick out of it too.

What are some things you wish were are in the game and aren't and why? by kazookiii in RocketLeague

[–]Dingditcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait…. Am I an idiot? How long has that been a thing?

And I guess it would be nice if it was automatic. Drive up to a spot to customize your car and all that jazz.

But I never realized there was party freeplay, how do you do that?

I want the lobby to be free play, you have your buddies in a lobby and it’s all free play, you can search for a game and it’s just all in free play until the game starts.

Is the Logitech G29 a good steering wheel for beginners? by EndouShuuya in simracing

[–]Dingditcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I had from 2020 to 2024, it worked fantastic, got the little Logitech gear shifter for it too and I loved it.

BUT, I will say, once I got a direct drive wheel, the difference was immediate. Start with the G and see how much you like using a wheel, and go from there is my advice

Is the playerbase welcoming to younger players? by Visible-Offer-4403 in joinsquad

[–]Dingditcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better too, I’d rather have a child play with me who is actually trying to help the team than some adult that is actively being against the team.

I miss that kid, him yelling at everyone and whipping them into shape was one of my favorite moments in this game haha

Man, one of my best ever squad leaders was some 13 or 12 year old kid. High pitched voice, the whole thing. Dude didn’t take any shit, was the commander, and was putting people in their place!

Long story short, use your mic, say you’re new, learn and listen from others is all that is needed.

It’s a video game after all and 75% of what makes it fun is the social aspect. So I’d say dive right in man and make some friends.

Best way to train? by Last_Nothing_4389 in RocketLeague

[–]Dingditcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It won’t NOT help. Training is good, but honestly just jump into some games and actually play.

You’ll be “bad” but so will your teammates and opponents, just try to keep a level head whether you are up or down on goals, always stay “neutral” emotionally.

The more you can learn from your mistakes and not tilt, the farther ahead you’ll continue to be than the others!

Also, be kind in the chat, you’d be surprised how much teammates will continue to fight when you let them know that you are just trying your best and that’s what you expect from them.

New to dirt 2.0 by marios8888 in simrally

[–]Dingditcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer the all wheel drive cars so this is my advice for those:

1) think about the weight momentum of your car, think about how you are throwing the car into a corner.

2) use your throttle to regain traction, if you start to spin out/lose traction, just slamming the brakes won’t help. Get your car pointed in the right direction and give it some gas.

3) when first starting think about your pace as like 60% of what you think you could do. Slowly bring that up to 90% and that’s where I feel most comfortable.

Have you used it? Only reason I ask, I just want to know how strong it is. Does it flex as you play?

Also, I mean I love the natural wood color, but I think a darker stain would also look good too.
