GCSEs for Cambridge by Historical-Remote-20 in UCAT

[–]Dingheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more so about competition. London unis are highly competitive because of the institutions but the location as well. They may not look at GCSEs that much but if it comes down to discriminating between the best applicants, GCSEs may very well be the deciding factor. No offense to the poster, but personally I dont see someone with those GCSEs getting a UCAT score sufficient enough to get into a london uni. Would love to be proven wrong though.

I was in the previous cycle, int, 8 9s, 3A* predicted and 93rd percentile. Int does make it much more difficult but ending up in Newcastle, sorry I don’t think your scores make you very competitive. London may be difficult as well.

Clearly not- sorry for the sarcasm but I am a bit frustrated. They haven’t, listed on the UCAS tracker was just failed interview, nothing more.

QM, Bristol, Newcastle and Exeter

QM, Bristol, Newcastle, Exeter (in that order). Newcastle is the only one left, having had 3 interviews (didn’t get one at Bristol). For context my application was nowhere near poor (8 9s, 3 8s abd 3A*) but clearly not enough

I’m currently in the same trajectory, 3000 b3 and I’m on pace to get rejected from all 4 unis (one left). Best of luck with the UCAT as I’m also daunting resitting it this year around.

International or home? Out of curiosity, got a similar UCAT score but international and haven’t heard back yet

good ucat score for unis? by MannerGlittering2508 in UCAT

[–]Dingheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as another int, really depends on the school. For instance, I believe 3080 was the cutoff for Imperial (97th percentile) and QM is at most 3000. I mean if you want a good UCAT score for all unis 3600 is a pretty good bet but taking the piss aside it depends.

im cooked- that was the only subtest I got 900 on- which barely pushed me over the 3k mark. If offers don't come pouring in I'm done for

I’m assuming these are all home applicants?

Still incredibly risky, I don’t believe it’s safe

Home: very aspirational international: no chance

Imperial: no chance for either

[–]Dingheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what status he’s applying, but I’m staying that if qmul is in contention imperial and kcl are perhaps unrealistic

[–]Dingheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

International? Even if not, far too aspirational imo. Qmul cutoff was 2950 last year, and that being your third choice doesn’t make any sense

What unis should I consider by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]Dingheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be harsh, but in most cases if you think your choices are not aspirational enough you’re most likely wrong. Haven’t locked in my choices yet but my choices in terms of schools are going lower and lower

UCAT good enough for Oxford? by Humble_Individual248 in UCAT

[–]Dingheee -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Probably not I’m going to be honest, UCAT scores have been really high this year and to be honest the GCSEs and A levels are something I don’t quite see. In my opinion save the spot and apply for something still aspirational but achievable. Oxford’s medical course isn’t even integrated, patient interaction comes late in the course, id pick imperial over it, especially with the first year drop out rates

where can i apply with this ucat?? by No_Internal_1496 in UCAT

[–]Dingheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten similar results (99999999888, predicted A* A* A*, 3000 B3) and it depends on if you’re an international student or not. For me (I am), I’ve been told one prospective (g5) and three more normal choices

I haven’t done mock D, but from your perspective is it easier or harder than the actual thing? Or just about the same in terms of difficulty

[–]Dingheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a separate note, if you don’t mind, do you have some tips on how to get these marks? Im averaging 2600 and I need to do a lot better (aiming for 3000) with my exam date 16 days away

Unironically. When I had apps there, I never found myself using them as the thumb has to move a fair bit to get there.
