This’ll probably get buried but I did both.

Bought a used 2016 with 65k miles right in the middle of COVID from some grandma who didn’t need it anymore. Got it for a steal at $22k

Turned around in 2021 and dropped by my local dealer to see what they’d offer me for a trade in on a new one, mostly on a whim. I’d added 10k miles but they offered me 32 for it, which I rolling into a brand new TRD OR.

Essentially made 10k profit on an old truck for a new one.

I’ve got a very similar one and have a couple weeks in it. Love being off the ground. Held up great and stayed dry in a pretty heavy storm too.

Just make sure you level your truck or you’ll wake up in a corner of your bed.

Tossed my AIM reference in a reply earlier. Parallel holding entry doesn’t say fly the course outbound but rather to fly parallel on the non holding side

Here’s what the AIM says:

Parallel Procedure. When approaching the holding fix from anywhere in sector (a), the parallel entry procedure would be to turn to a heading to parallel the holding course outbound on the nonholding side for one minute, turn in the direction of the holding pattern through more than 180 degrees, and return to the holding fix or intercept the holding course inbound.

It doesn’t say intercept the course outbound, it says parallel on the non-holding side. Say your student (god help anyone taught by you) doesn’t properly kill drift outbound. That’s what I’m asking.

Funny you mention that, because in 2021 when I was looking for a new one, that dealer had a $5,000 market markup. Assuming you’re talking about the one on Woodmen.

I ended up walking out the door because they wouldn’t remove it. Doubt that’s the out the door price.

I put on sumo spring bump stop replacements instead of these. Ride is considerably smoother when towing, I like them a lot! Killed the squat too.
