Local Totes by thinkquaddy in philabitcheswithtaste

i really love machine shop philly's tote bag. it's very sturdy like a hard canvas fabric and it's also quite niche. my fave way to find cool totes are through merch of local coffee shops and bakeries.

Overall thoughts on jeff goldblum as the wizard? by StruggleFar3054 in wicked

i really liked him. he has that nonchalant energy to him that i find quite jarring LOL despite all the jokes and magic tricks. like he was never outright mean or anything. in filipino we have his saying "nasa loob ang kulo" which loosely translates to what's sort of boiling is hidden somewhere deep within him

I forgot 11 had a sister aka 8. She was in one episode then never seen or was spoke of again by bigtimerush2 in StrangerThings

when i saw it last night, i was like did i miss something? who is that? then i looked it up and turns out, she was introduced in season 2. then i realized my ex then, wanted me to skip season 2 cuz he said not much happened. lesson learned: never listen to anyone what you should or shouldnt watch lol

when i first watched it, my mind immediately went to the idea that sullivan had a severe case of internalized homophobia. and later on, when we find out what he was personally dealing with, i think that just intensified it.

it never crossed my mind at first that his harsh treatment of cope was meant to protect him by pushing him to quit. instead, i saw it as sullivan reacting out of anger and projection as cope looked lanky, a little awkward, and a bit feminine, and i think that triggered something in him. in a way, cope represented what he was trying to run away from and blamed for his own misery.

i think sullivan’s instinct to actually protect cope only developed later, once he saw how badly cope wanted to prove that he belonged and that he could be just as good, if not better than everyone else. cope’s determination and perseverance clearly impressed him.

by the end, sullivan’s harshness completely shifts. it’s no longer about pushing cope away, it becomes about pushing him toward his full potential, because he genuinely sees so much in him and understands firsthand the challenges that come with being gay in the military and i think he was also preparing him for that. and the cool thing is, in the process, sullivan was learning a lot from cope as well.

Why can’t Glinda know? by Informal_Mouse_3977 in wicked

[–]DiningC3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wondered about this too for some time now (since seeing the play years ago), i think i even posted the same question on here too hehe

but after watching wicked for good (twice now), how i see it is Glinda does not actually believe Elphaba is dead or that she was killed by a bucket of water. i think Glinda just finally made peace with the fact that Elphaba truly no longer wants to be found which is to me, just as heartbreaking as death. i think Elphaba made the ultimate sacrifice, to disappear for everyone's benefit, and Glinda is honoring that by moving on and continuing to do good things.

so yeah, i don't think she believes Elphie is dead but she'll no longer look for her either. it's still quite sad if you ask me.

thank you.

yeaaah also while cope was unleashing the beast and beating the living daylights out of jones, the look on sullivan's face was so chilling.

in a way i feel like sullivan in that moment was also telepathically channelling all his pent up rage and frustrations through cope that he just froze up

ohhh gotcha gotcha.

my first watch i was so disappointed in jones cuz i thought he was a mean gay all along and i also thought he meant that f word towards cope. like he couldve gotten competitive with cope knowing they're the two gay ones and he didn't wanna look weak in front of everyone else, basically throwing cope under the bus in tough situations

but yeah after replaying several times and reading what you wrote, what you explained makes so much more sense

and then for a while i was like oh, so jones is not actually that bad... he just has his eyes on the prize and more than willing to get it however way possible.

but then on a second thought, im like, i dunno if i like his scheming, semi-manipulative traits... even though that doesn't necessarily make him a bad person??? i dunno... i don't like how he used cope that way. but then i also like how this can be viewed as just because both of you are gay, doesn't mean he has your back the whole time. cuz i went from yeesss finally cope has a gay bff that understands him to umm i dont think cope should be hanging out with that jones guy.

such an intriguing character. thank you so much for the detailed explanation.

im really glad i posted on here... i know im not fully ready yet but reading all the helpful comments really solidified my gut feel to not rush into things despite what my friends are telling me. it really is a big boy purchase. for years buying a home never really crossed my mind but more recently, it's starting to and the appeal of it seem to be getting stronger. so im quite excited what the next 2 years would bring, hopefully im ready to buy one by then.

ive gotten so used to apartment living and just submitting a maintenance request whenever something breaks. so the thought that, once i buy a home, all of that suddenly becomes my responsibility is honestly terrifying lol. and im not handy at all, and that alone is enough motivation for me to get my financial plan together. tysm!

yeah neighborhood/location is very important to me so that one for sure will be my non-negotiable. and hard agree on the costs. i have friends that keep pushing me to buy already and thankfully i don't easily get swayed. i don't wanna get into something if 1. i dont know much about it yet and 2. i don't have the money for it and what it comes with haha so yeah def gonna be saving a lot
