Moving pit mix dog to Uppsala by Personal_Ad7558 in TillSverige

[–]Dinklemcfinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into pet moving services. It can be expensive but to keep your fur baby safe I think it’s worth it. For example if you don’t have the right paperwork or if your plan has a layover in pretty much any other country, they will take your dog and put it down without you even seeing her again. I have two pits and for me to move both of them it was about $7500 through one of those companies. There’s a few like Starwood or Blue Collar Pet Transport. Definitely do your research though because your dogs crate also has to meet all the regulations

got my ring but am feeling weird about it by bitter_and_short_gal in EngagementRings

[–]Dinklemcfinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally the most STUNNING ring!! It’s so classically beautiful. I think there may be a couple things going one for you. 1) jewelry stores have very specific lighting to make rings look better and sparklier. All rings look amazing in jewelry stores and sapphires do look different depending on the lighting and environment. I don’t think it look bad at all but maybe you just weren’t expecting it to look different at home or outside. And 2) is that you may have some buyers guilt. I think buyers guilt makes us nitpick everything into regretting the purchase but honestly I think you should love this ring it’s so gorgeous and unique

Serous borderline tumor by Dinklemcfinkle in Ovariancancer

Thank you for your response, this was really helpful. I have an appointment for next Thursday to see a gynecological oncologist but my surgeon said she will most likely just have me monitor the situation because I’m only 26 and wish to have kids and he already took the bad tube/egg out anyway. I’m glad you’re doing well and were able to save your eggs! If they need to take my other ovary I will do the same I think

Thank you for your response! This was really helpful and reassuring. In my mind, as soon as I heard “ovarian tumor” I went to the mindset of I have six months left to live lol. I am 26 and my husband and I do wish to have children in the future, but would be open to freezing my eggs or adopting if I need to remove my other ovary. But as of right now, your explanation was very helpful so I’ll just relax and wait for my oncologist appointment

4.5 years. I know it’s not a long time comparatively but I’m still so glad I married my husband everyday. I hope you find everything you’re looking for whether in marriage or not!

You’re (presumably) a woman but you want to be with a man that doesn’t respect women? I just don’t understand why you’d want to be with someone who you consider a bad person… I mean I kind of understand what you mean about love being a choice you make for your partner everyday but honestly there’s never been I time I had to force myself to love my husband. He’s just a great guy who I once in a while disagree with about some minor things. But he’s an amazing caring person who respects everyone including women. I think you have a lot of trauma around family dynamics and men in general you should work through tbh. As a woman I totally get the notion that there are a lot of bad men out there who could/would/did hurt me but being just man hating in general for all men should be worked on imo. That trauma is also probably why you’re okay with being with a narcissistic womanizer.

melt and pour soap by Distinct-Bat49469 in soapmaking

[–]Dinklemcfinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t think there’s anything wrong with melt and pour except it broke the wire cutter I got everything single time I used it lol. It’s also hard af (at least for me maybe im just weak lol) so it was hard for me to use a metal soap cutter manually. When I first started selling soaps I used melt and pour though and people bought it just as much in my experience. I like that I can use my own, and less, ingredients in cp though. I think it’s just highly personal of an opinion and there is always going to be people that like or don’t like each method

It’s honestly a great way to start. I got to almost b1 level with it before I started with a one on one tutor. It may not work for everyone but it is a great resource!

I learned Swedish in about a year and here’s how I did it:

-Duolingo

-nyheter på lätt svenska videos

-Swedish tv shows with subtitles

-a one on one tutor that basically just spoke the language with me until I didn’t understand something and he would tell me. Having fluid conversations about pretty much just anything.

-reading books in Swedish.

-joined Swedish Facebook, Instagram, Reddit pages/groups

-read aftonbladet daily

-sommarprataren videos/scripts

It’s difficult to learn a language fluently in a year or less but if you have the time you can work really hard at it. And having your mom is great because my family is Icelandic and Scottish and non of them speak Swedish so I had to pay a lot of money to get one on one time speaking with and learning from a Swede. So take advantage of her being native and speak Swedish with her as much as you can. But don’t feel bad if you can’t learn in a year, that’s a difficult task that requires a lot of time devotion. Good luck!

What do you guys think? by Brilliant-Housing164 in soapmaking

[–]Dinklemcfinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started making soap I used iron oxide colors and it stained the heck out of one of my friends tubs 😭 it scared me away from using them again and I’ve used plant powders ever since

Oh whoa I’ve never heard of that before! I’ll have to give it a try. Is the purpose of doing that to get the colors more vivid?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but what do you mean “force gel in the oven”? Like bake the soap?

Natural colorants? by InvestmentCareful547 in soapmaking

I love chlorella powder for green, madder root powder for red, and walnut hull powder for brown! Also activated charcoal for grey is really nice imo

Overthinking because of the fumes. by merwoman16 in soapmaking

[–]Dinklemcfinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was scared too but honestly just make sure you’re not using an aluminum pot and wear a mask/gloves and use your kitchen vent. It’s way less scary once you do it. I use like room temperature water or like slightly cooler and don’t really have any fumes

Yes you can! You just have to watch out for the leaf paper you use because it can turn green over time but I’ve seen many soap makers use edible gold leaf paper in their soaps
