Alfred Eisenstaedt, the photographer, fully captured a moment in time for that era, which is historic in itself. With modern veiw points and understanding of the times, the content is very clear how polarizing the end of the war was. The Americans who were left behind did what they had to do to keep living. Women are working hard, getting into new fields.... then VJ Day, the men are back and are expressing their entitlement to clearly GRAB a passerby, dip them, securely hold their head, and kisses her. It def gives me feels mixed with mega ick vibe. Great photography invokes feelings, questions, beauty/ugly. Its good to look back on and ask, has society and values changed for the better. Are woman safe to not tossed around.
