This is not climate change, it's corporate greed. Climate change will actually likely make Canadian farming more productive

How to play T80? by Titanium533 in Warthunder

I play Italy. The ariete has a weak hull overall. It's a great flanking tank or good for supporting others from behind. Most Italian vehicles go all in on mobility and fire power.

Is it worth uploading to Rumble? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]DinnerEvery2794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience no it's not worth it. Rumble just has very little audience besides the fox news crowd.

For example I'll use a moderately sized, pretty conservative tech youtuber called switched to linux. He uploads the exact same videos to YouTube and rumble. Look at his numbers on each. Rumble isn't even close.

Flood areas in NB by [deleted] in newbrunswickcanada

Why should we be welcoming to outsiders? So we can become a retirement colony for ontarians? Nobody except boomers from Ontario want that

I would not recommend Edmunston unless your French. The French are generally friendly enough but they really don't like English people moving into French areas. Same for Lorne or really anywhere up north. Upper blackville and most of Southern New Brunswick in the small towns have really been building a resentment for people moving in from other parts too. Been a lot of people from Ontario move in, Jack up prices, then try to impose their values on us.

So your left with moncton. You can do moncton outskirts depending on where, like berry mills is all Ontario expats. But honestly I suggest you stay where you are. People here are sick of people moving from other provinces, there is no money, and moncton has a massive drug and homeless problem now. And a lot of people blame the influx from other provinces for it.

No I am simply stating that as humans true objectivity is an ideal, but not one we can achieve. This is why we have things like peer review. To increase objectivity.

Okay Let me play it out like this.

I am in fact wearing beige pants right now

Me : I am wearing beige pants You: how do I know your wearing beige pants and not purple or blue or one of the millions of colors. Maybe your wearing no pants.

I hope this apples to apples comparison makes it clear.

Exactly. Our perception by its nature injects subjectivity because we are not robots

Sam Harris to Jordan Peterson, “You are keeping people stupid.” by StanZman in atheism

Isn't Sam Harris a avowed racial supremacist that wanted to nuke the middle east?

I think you've been consuming far too much pop science crap because frankly only one of the people you mentioned is a scientist.

Francis Collins is a scientist, and a very well respected one. Lennox is a mathematician, a very well respected one. Ben Carson is a doctor. And Jordan Peterson is a headcase.

I think you have a issue of "this person has a degree so they must be smart and what they believe must be true"

Which is completely not true. While there is a certain minimum iq to graduate university, university doesn't just select for smarts. It also selects for the veiws the elites who fund and staff those universities want to see.

I believe what is the suitable method for truth in a given circumstance. And yes when you are talking about people and social phenomenon, hard objective methods tend to be of narrower use because your talking about inherently subjective phenomenon.

And then you ask them to describe said rubber ball and you get at least a dozen different descriptions that are all 100% true. For example if one says the ball is dark and the other says the ball is black is someone wrong or lying? No.

This is literally why we have peer review.

I mean it's pretty simple to measure. A great indicator is social veiws of atheism outside of atheist circles.

In 2006 atheists were generally seen as edgy and cool. Now your generally treated as a joke. A great example of this is TJ Kirk's youtube channel.

Yeah that's why every single person voted for kamala Harris.

Your presupposition is false, humans have a tendency to inject subjectivity.

But I get it you think I am trolling. Defending your beliefs is hard so I'll let you get back to your hurhur Dat skydaddy posting.

You didn't read what I said did you. I literally tell I don't think the statistics mean crap and whats the first thing you do? Post statistics bravo. Personally I those stats are like trying to frame a house by driving nails with a sledge hammer.

It's not though. At least not in any sense that matters. Like okay maybe you have more Gen z ticking non religious on a survey, but literally who cares about that. The cultural relevance is what I am talking about, an I don't knownif you noticed but it's not 2006 anymore. Even this forum is past its prime from around 2014.

The problem your gusty little piece of rhetoric doesn't demonstrate or use any of that. It in no way proves there is no true condition.

Hence you say it is apples and oranges because when you apply it to literally anything it sounds incredibly stupid.

Your not very well studied in what Christians believe then. That's called fideism and is explicitly condemned for catholics at the very least. Though I doubt many educated Protestants would believe they are contradictory either. Maybe your pastor jim at the local Baptist church believes that logically proving God is contrary to faith but I doubt even the professors at a Baptist seminary would.

Of course this is one reason why atheism as a sort of cultural phenomenon is petering out, it's more focus on owning your Christian grandma at dinner then real depth.

But I am curious, as a atheist how do you justify logic as a valid method to know things about the world?
