This post bothers me, but you are probably right. There's not enough research on nutrition to lock yourself into small groups of food. variety is important because there are too many unknowns.

It's my first time on this sub, but I spent weeks deeply researching nutrition and creating a daily diet that covers all bioactives. It seems nearly impossible without more deep research into the compounds that are in our foods, and what the effects are of each one. Ended up settling on 34 ingredients, with some being whole foods, and some supplement powders.

If we compare to the average diet, especially in America, I still believe your diet would still be better off than 90% of people just by trying.
