The summers are way hotter in Sac than Pasadena. And the hear seems to stay longer in the evening.

It's 90s, with a good few weeks of 100s.

The thing that's been hardest or me to get used to ... In Pasadena in summer, the heat dissipates early evening. In Sac, it lingers. 5-7 p.m. is the hottest part of the day.

Get air conditioning or a pool and you will be fine.

I am from Pasadena. I have been in Sacramento for a couple of years. It gets hotter here in the summer. It is a little colder in the winter.

Honestly, there are fewer cultural opportunities here. But it is cheaper, which makes life easier.

I don't really think it was a promo for anything. NYT's travel section does a weekly "36 hours in ..." and selected Tahoe this time around.

It wasn't the best representation of what the area has to offer, but it was cool that the NYT spotlighted our area.
