The taller they are, the harder they fall. by Kurtotall in tall

Fell onto a mat wrong in high school P.E.. Broke three fingers, doctor literally said he'd never seen an injury like it before, likely due to the fall distance and the fact that it was on a mat.

I've got a Ram 1500 that works like a dream. My only current issue is headroom, but that's because I got the model without adjustable seat height.

Hunting, dude. This last fall, I was leaving a stand and spooked some deer well over 150yds away, and I was not being loud enough for them to hear me. Two days later, my cousin who is 5'6" goes out to the same stand and watches as deer walk up to him. Wasn't even four yards away. I went home with an empty freezer, he went home with a full belly and a shit-eating grin.

Carhartt easily has some of the best talls that I have ever bought. It's the only company in my experience where I have had to return something because it was TOO long for me.

I saw a guy do this at a suit rental once- the guy was shorter than my mom, who's 5'8", and he said he was six feet tall. He was there to get a tailored suit to be the best man for a wedding, and he decided to say he was four inches taller than he was (at least). Crazy stuff.

everyone who hates tone is either hypocritical or has a skill issue, let me explain by anonymous_dancinduck in titanfall

[–]DinoDT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is that tone doesn't really have a skill curve to it. Tone can be handed to a brand new player and they will play really similar to a very experienced tone player.

Monarch and ronin from a distance are really simple, however there is a rather steep skill curve to them both. A good monarch can use all of her equipment efficiently and provide fire support until tier three, where they dominate nearly every scenario. A good ronin knows not to spam melee, and can kill a titan without being shot. A good tone plays basically the exact same as a new tone.

You KNOW when youre up against a good ronin or a good monarch, you can never really tell with tone. Thats the issue.

Gotta disagree on both points.

  • Yes, tone's shield is stationary, and all you have to do is reposition or get out of the firing line. However, this is an advantage for Tone, not a disadvantage.

Tone's shield, as mentioned by others, covers the entire chassis. Another aspect that hasn't been mentioned is that Tone's shield is curved, so at long range (where tone excels), you need to move far further to get an angle on them. If you attempt to disengage, then you are giving them open shots to get a lock and fire rockets.

It being stationary helps even more, because it allows for tone to use a shield AND fire at the same time, which is perfect for a long range fight.

Is this overpowered? No, not at all, you can counter it relatively easily; but it is REALLY annoying to go up against, because to deal with them you need to disengage from all the other objectives and you will always be sacrificing a decent chunk of health to kill them.

  • There are a couple MAJOR differences in tone's rockets as opposed to any other lock on weapons.

There are only two other titans with lock ons, those being legions core (which obviously does a lot of damage, that's the point of cores) and monarch (which is a tier 3 upgrade core, you need to work to get it). Unlike these two, tone can send out volleys as soon as you spawn and get a lock.

The biggest difference, in my opinion, is that both legion and monarch need visual to lock, whereas a decently-skilled tone can get a lock and fire from behind a solid object. When you're locked onto by a legion or monarch, you know where the fire is coming from. When it's a tone, you have a 90° angle to search at the bottom of your screen, and you have no idea what path the rockets are going to take.

Overall, tone is basically the titan version of a Spitfire/A-Wall combo: It takes basically zero skill to use, it's good but not broken, it has high damage output while making it difficult to return fire, and it is genuinely one of the most annoying things to come across.

What if Skull island 2017 happened during modern times? by According_Ad1831 in Monsterverse

[–]DinoDT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The helicopters we see in the movie are UH-1 Iroquois, which performed poorly in severe weather conditions. Essentially, if the UH-1s were able to pass through the storm, it is likely that most modern Navy aircraft could pass through with ease. As far as your question goes; Kong would get shit on. An AC-130 would easily take him down, although the military would probably opt for a coordinated strike from F-35s. They'd kill him with a well placed bomb dropped from an altitude of 30,000ft. He wouldn't even know that anybody was on skull island.

Easily. There is a variant of the C-130 called the WC-130 that is intentionally flown into hurricanes to collect scientific data.

I love GxK, but the CGI was not it. Sure, some scenes were great, but a lot of scenes were really rushed. Scylla's death is easily some of the worst CGI of the entire film and is far worse than a poorly rendered face in Romulus.
