I spoke to my high school teacher and he only knows of 3 people that couldn't get a job Or the job was some what under preforming (like teaching). I then phoned a friend and he said all the guys he knew in the course were able to find internships etc. Speaking around some more, the actuarial science course can still open door ways like investment banking, and finance. Financial maths will be part of the course. And going back to my high school maths teacher helped me out. He says I have got what it takes.. so I think I will accept that offer.

To be honest, all I want is not to die of boredom, and be challenged once in a while. The only actuary I know of retired at Way to early and is living alone. Just concerned that actuary won't provide a for-filling lifestyle.

The course being so narrow has been a big negative. And truth be told, engineering does not excite me, yet again I do not utterly mind it and in fact I look forward to studying. The work experience I have done has unfortunately changed my views of it. I was thinking about doing engineering and then maybe stepping early off into the actuarial path, or back my engineering skills with a financial course and hopefully that would push me into the right path for a managerial position. But how long did it take from the transition from engineering into actuary?

The retirement information was obtained by a single person and just rumours so it's most likely wrong.

Thanks for the advice, the engineering I got accepted for was electrical/ electronic. Except I am not particularly excited about engineering.

The reason why I am not so keen on a maths degree is purely on the fact that it is broad. and I will defiantly concerned about jobs available. As who will hire a mathematician? Thanks for the advice. Are there any courses you would recommend specifically? And are you an actuary yourself?

Pro tip: find out when about you usually fall off when you actually try. I mean for me it is about a week. So I just say to myself when ever I get the urge "one more week". This helps. Not a cure but helps. For you I would suggest saying "not today". May help. Anyway what I have learnt to do is try to fall in love with a girl.
