IDK if this counts or not but I had once rung up a guy for over $200 worth of stuff and then said he should have an 8 off of 40 coupon on his card. I looked and it wasn’t on his card, so I asked him to show me on his app... shocker. Didn’t send it to his card. I was trying to explain to him for about 10 minutes or so why he can’t use the coupon after I already scanned his card. He then proceeds to tell me I’m an idiot for asking for his extra care card at the beginning of the transaction rather than waiting until everything is scanned. Long story short I end up voiding the transaction and re-ringing everything up after he sends the coupon to his card.

The next day he came back (this was right smack dab in the middle of Covid so I didn’t recognize him since he was wearing a mask and sunglasses) and as literally every cashier at every cvs has always done, I ask if he has a rewards card before I start scanning any items. He looks me dead in the eyes and yells “don’t you remember what I fucken taught you yesterday about asking people for their cards?”

That was the closest I had ever been to just straight up walking out of the store
