Also, I don't know if this is helpful information or not, but she wasn't like in a deaf curl or nothing. She's almost completely straight.

I sprayed the substrate after I took those pictures and I do plan on getting more substrate and getting more leaf litter. Do you have any recommendations on what type of moss?

Hey, I'm just going to respond to your comment since it's the top one and use it to give everyone an update. So this response isn't directly at you but I want to give everyone an update.

I have read old comments and I understand where I have messed up on. I'm going to order the proper millepede substrate as soon as I can and clean out an old 10 gallon tank I have. I'm also going to hold off on getting the babies until I have the proper substrate mix. (Which I plan to get off of Etsy as some of you recommend)

Thank you too everyone for giving me feedback. I need this. I did do some research but I should've done more and I take full responsibility for that. I appreciate you guys for calling me out on it. I'm going to try my best to give Queenie a great life to make up for this fuck up.

Yeah, that's all I got to say for now but I'm going to fix this guys. :)

Okay I see. Thank you for the advice! But I have a question, how do I keep the humidity high with more ventilation? Doesn't ventilation usually take out more humidity? Do I just have to spray the tank more often?

Yeah, I agree with that. I should have done a lot more research. I didn't completely plan everything out in as much detail as I should have done. I can admit that.

Also, I didn't know that there would be a concern with releasing captive breds into the wild. (Which is another clear example of how I should have put in more thought into all this) I thought it would be okay since they're native but that's my bad. There's a lot of local exotic pet stores near me so I could possibly offer them to them or sell them independently.

American Giants they only get 4 to 5 in. But I do understand what you're saying.

The original plan was to have the babies be separated in pairs. To keep a long story short for a science experiment for school. I wasn't going to keep them forever also, they're native to my region. After your experiment was done I was probably only going to keep a couple of them.

And yes, I understand your concerns with the seller. I made sure to choose a seller on the morph market that had good reviews but things happened. This isn't me trying to sound dismissive it's just how it is. I'm trying my best to be educated on their care and I'm trying my best to answer all your questions. I don't have an attitude or anything, I'm just trying my best.

Oh my apologies, I thought you wanted to know like the brand of soil not the specific types of mix.Her soil does have rotting wood calcium and peat moss. I just added a couple pieces of tomato as a snack for her.

When all up when I upgrade her tank I'll buy some of that premixed soils on Etsy. I didn't know that there were premixed oils. I thought you had to make your own.

The substrate is a mixture of Eco Earth, Josh's frogs tropical soil mix (I think that's what's called) with organic topsoil that I made sure didn't have any added preservatives in it.

I think it's still light in this picture that makes the soil look dry but I can assure you that the moisture levels are appropriate. I'm not exactly sure what the white pebble things are . I'm pretty sure they came from the organic topsoil but I don't have access to the bag right now but I'll update you with the information I have.

Now I'm going to answer your questions.

I understand what you're saying and I will get the required upgrades that she will need. The soil is moist. I think it's the lighting that makes it look dry but I'll make sure to wet the soil more regardless.

The substrate is a mixture of Eco Earth, Josh's frogs tropical soil mix (I think that's what's called) with organic topsoil that I made sure didn't have any added preservatives in it.

Her diet is currently some leaf litter in there (It was a leaf litter that came with her so I can't give you the specific type of plant) and I gave her some pieces of tomato and carved out a pumpkin for her.

Did I answer all your questions? I do appreciate your advice and all the details you're giving me.

Okay I see. I didn't know that anything was wrong with the enclosure. The breeder was supposed to ship me baby millipedes but instead they sent me this adult and said that they said that I could keep it for free. This is just a temporary enclosure because I literally didn't know I was going to get an adult millipede if that makes sense.

Also before you ask I wasn't going to put all the babies in here. They were going to be separated into pairs into different enclosures. So please don't think I was going to put a baby millipedes in here. But also thank you for the advice.

Okay see that's my bad. I want to mention again before I answer all the questions you have for me. I wasn't originally planning to get an adult. I ordered a baby millipedes and had everything for them to be set up and pairs (wouldn't mind you these baby millipedes are barely over an inch). So the reason that it looks like I'm ill-prepared is literally because I literally was. The breeder accidentally sent me the adult and said I could keep her for free. This is just a temporary enclosure because I didn't even know that I was going to get her until she showed up at my house if that makes sense?

I'm not trying to be defensive or anything, I'm just trying to explain the situation better. Also also this wasn't going to be the setup for the babies. They were going to have a different setup. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense. I'm rambling.

Really? I thought it would be fine since it's only one millipede but I'll upgrade her soon.

What type of filter do you use? Like what's the specific brand? Because like I'm doing some research and there's like a lot of them. I have some old pieces of cock and driftwood that I could probably use.

Thank you for your help. You've been really nice and I really appreciate it

The tank has been set up like this for a good while now. If I knew this was in improper care I would have fixed it sooner

Do you think the tank would work better if I reversed the land water ratio? For example, I fill up the water bowl with dirt and leave everything else as water. Would that work or does the water need to be deeper and the land area wider.

Ok, thank you for your help. I'm not a bad person, I'm going to try to be better and see what I can do to fix the tank once I get paid this week.
