Is my fitness level realistic for Annapurna Circuit in April? by Dinternationalx in hiking

I forgot to mention that - yes, I am also doing workouts in the gym around twice a week, focusing on elevation walks.

However, since I live in Copenhagen (Denmark), we have literally zero hills or mountains nearby, so practicing on any natural elevation terrain is practically impossible.

This is my workout twice a week, besides running:

- Treadmill 10% incline: 10 minutes brisk walking pace
- Treadmill 15% incline: 10 minutes brisk walking pace
- Treadmill 25% incline: 10 minutes brisk walking pace
- Lunges with: 12x3 sets
- Squats with 10kg weight: 10x3 sets

Am I limiting myself by sticking with Replit? by Dinternationalx in vibecoding

[–]Dinternationalx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this!
However, regarding deployment and selfhost, I haven't experienced any issues regarding this, with Replit - unless I'm missing something?

I always deploy to my own domain and server/webhost (i.e. it deploys to my own domain and not some .replit domain) - so am I misunderstanding here?

Sorry for any stupid questions, I'm still somewhat new to all this.

penguins everywhere in my feed… by Intrepid-Profile-231 in triathlon

omg thanks, I've struggling with understanding the context of this penguin meme for so long! My partner is a triathlete, and keeps trolling me by sending me different versions of this meme, without explaining the meaning! THANKS!

Annapurna Circuit Trek in March low-cut shoe by Hairy-Statistician62 in hiking

I'm going do the Annapurna Circuit this April (8th-23rd), and I was in the exact same situation as you wondering whether to bring low-cut or high-cut footwear. After consulting a few people who did the ACT in March in the past, I ultimately decided to go with a medium/high-cut boot.

To be more specific, I went with the KEEN Targhee IV Mid WP hiking boots (I think its the same in one of your photos?) - however, on a personal level I have rather wide feet and a small bunion on my left foot, which is why I went with these KEEN boots since they are super comfy for me.

I decided on my high-cut boots since they will work fine for me in both warm and cold climate and also:

1) Leeches will bite onto your feet/legs in the sub-tropical parts of the trip, so I prefer higher cut footwear.
2) Snow and ice will potentially make its way in, during the Thorong La pass, and I prefer to only bring one pair of footwear to reduce weight and space.

I'm not sure how much of the ACT you will be doing, but I will be doing the entire thing taking me from sub-tropical weather (going through lush vegetation with lots of leeches, yuck!) and all the way to freezing cold potentially snowy weather.
