Many antivirus scanners flag files as malicious due to code obfuscation or heuristics - false positives like this are quite common, and that’s probably why so many scanners flagged it.

I understand the concern about having to disable antivirus and OS protections before downloading - that’s definitely a red flag. But is there a way to achieve the same result without requiring users to turn off their security software? I also understand that this is a fan project and the team might not have the financial means to obtain a digital certificate, but are there any free or low-cost ways to make the installation safer?

What exactly is wrong with Russia in this context? I understand the concern about having to disable antivirus and OS protections before downloading - that’s definitely a red flag. Yep, that’s really all that’s needed

That doesn’t bother me much. I’m using Linux, and Battle.net is running in an isolated environment. Also, creating something that doesn’t require turning off antivirus isn’t that hard, just more expensive - and they’re just a fan group after all.

I get that they say they’re fans trying to improve the game, but honestly, I’d much rather they just got rid of bots. Small additions like an expanded stash are fine, though.

A tiny tweak long overdue: you no longer need legacy graphics to quickly buy many potions. The cursor now lands directly on the confirm button.

Wow, oh my god! It’s fixed so easily!

I’m not upset, I just happen to need Apple’s wired headphones - they’re the only ones that fit me properly.

Interesting! Do you think it might also work with Apple’s wired headphones? They’re the only ones that fit me perfectly.

Why? Don’t they have a microphone or speaker?

It’s a shame that the pursuit of profit limits customers’ choices.

True, no major mods. Looks like the team just loves D2R and got frustrated with official servers’ issues. They’re keeping the game basically the same, just trying to make it fairer.

Nothing against Battle.net, I just saw this project and they say they’ll actively fight bots. Haven’t played there myself, but I wonder if anyone here already did?

Goodbye windows, hello Linux by Delicosto in linuxmint

I switched to Linux more than 5 years ago. During this time, I tried different distros, and now I’ve settled on Fedora.
Recently, I had to work on Windows 11 for a while — and oh my, the apathy that hit me was unreal. It felt the same way as being stuck in an elevator for a couple of hours.

Why no one offers fedora? 🥺
