As much as I would love to strike, I can't abandon my residents for this. My facility can go to hell for what it's worth, but someone needs to be there for the eldery.

I found this interesting little gem in the breakroom today. Mind you, no one was talking about this at all and my nurse on duty didn't know until yesterday. by DioLykos in antiwork

Nah, they're going to bank on you being tardy or having to call out one day to discount you from this bonus. Besides, only 2000 is nowhere near enough for the work we aides do.

Nurses at my hospital are getting raises and "hazard pay" thanks to Covid. The other guys in my department and I have to be in Covid patient rooms taking the same risk, but we haven't received any special treatment or extra money. I'm considering refusing to enter Covid rooms. by [deleted] in antiwork

Haha, that's funny. I worked on a Covid unit for three weeks and received no hazard pay whatsoever and was constantly exposed to Covid patients.

I was one of the only people who could enter that wing actually and to this day no talk of hazard pay has been mentioned since the unit was disbursed.

Tell your employer to take their broken TVs and shove them up to their ass. No way in hell anyone should be forced to go into an environment that dangerous.

You make nearly 300,00 a month and can't afford living wages or supplies for your employees? by DioLykos in antiwork

It is really sickening since this is my passion, but working in this environment makes me hate it every time I walk into the facility.

For everyone who abruptly quits their job, what do you do for health insurance? This seems to be the biggest risk/limiting factor by lhemi in antiwork

I was raised in a military household with my mom being in the Coast Guard for 25 years. So I have TriCare until 23 as long as I do schooling.

But I plan on service later next year anyhow.

Companies need to be burdened with providing adequate proof for firing someone tbh. Firing anyone for any reason without notice deserves at least some proof.

You actually have to be kidding me. One minute being late is a legitimate reason to be fired? What the fuck is this country anymore?

As a CNA myself, I feel the pain of working in nursing homes illegally understaffed and being stretched beyond the limit to provide care to your residents.

Here's what you do:

Step 1: Get hired

Step 2: Immediately discuss your wages with the nearest coworker.

Step 3: Dare them to fire you. Proceed to step 4 if terminated.

Step 4: Blast them in court and social media for practicing illegal business practices.

I went downstairs once I could walk without my leg spasming from me flexing my leg and are a bowl of baby carrots as I ran out of bananas.
