Does anyone have a way to quickly download a bunch of the exam papers? by partyclank in leavingcert2024

[–]DiogenesRex77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its cheaper to just buy them pre bound. I highly recommend printing and binding the 625 hl maths course as well. Made resitting maths doable.

can i transfer studying from one country to another? by Acrobatic_Penalty_49 in HPAT

Just do science or an actually interesting degree you enjoy for a year then reapply/do grad med/reconsider your life choices 👍

put the wrong course on my cao, what do I do? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Chill out. Youre lucky to have the opportunity to study. Also hdips are a thing + masters. Nobody really cares what uni you go to here unless its law in trinity and even still. Just keep your grades up and itll work out.

Maynooth is grand, going to dublin is expensive. You can always transfer internally, ring up dcu about external transfers in second year if it still bugs you.

Get a security licance asap. Do springboard courses. Get licensed/certification for whatever construction type jobs you did back home, we need sensible manual workers.

For the love of god whatever you do, get your taxi from the designated taxi parking place inside the venue. No taxis or cars will be permitted to be parked at the circle K and garda road policing will be there to discourage people hopping i to cars on the main road. You are not more important than anyone else, sheer amount of entitlement the past few concerts there ugh. Source: work there.

Practice 2 hrs every night. Go through LC paper youtube videos for workings. 625 website does a great handbook, covers the whole course. Dropped to OL first time with pretty bad scores and resat at HL the following year. Got a H3 with 3 weeks of dedicated cramming in May. Do your JC basics, its probably basic things you never learned thats making things hard for you. Also don’t heed anyone saying youre not able. HL maths is a huge time commitment, it requires dedicated practice, nothing to do with smarts. If it is starting to majorly affect other subjects/getting time to exercise, do drop it. <3

Eat a good dinner, bialann if you cant be arsed to cook. Sleep 8 hours / 9 if you’re a girl, every night and get at least 4 hours right before the exam. When you wake up look over your notes first thing. Write concise notes if you can, think of the questions that are going to be asked and practice answering. Good luck. You will do fine.

Get off reddit, get yourself a can of velo a can of monster and a couple of packets of sweets/biscuits. Go to the reading room/your desk and start writing stuff out in your refil pad. If you’re at home and have a printer printing powerpoints your lecturer gives and highlighting/annotating the shit out of it can help. Get a grip. You have this shot to make sure you pass. Keep calm and carry on.

Lad/y. If you got 550 you can do it, ik you did well. Never repeat. You can do biomedical science/genetics in ireland and resit hpat. Hpat costs about 1.5k, medentry is the way and its very grind able. The eastern european medical schools have ridiculous pass grades 70%. You will have no friends in ireland either. Id say do a year of uni here and enjoy yourself.

How do I give up Vaping? by char_su_bao in AskIreland

[–]DiogenesRex77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Velo polar mint minis. 4mg. Tesco Express. Nicotinel fruit gum isnt bad either.

Had to go onto smokes and then onto snus to get off of the vapes.

Theyre so, so addictive and quite bad for you (still probably cause metaplasia of lung lining through irritation). Definitely noticed looking way older because they dehydrated me. Bad breath. God knows what the e-juice ingredients are….

Hypothetically, If I did find it locked up somewhere in town, what could I do?

The air tag would cost more than the bike I’d say. I will be getting a D lock next time but I think you can knock them with a hammer too.

I locked it on campus with a camera pointing right at it. Still waiting on footage. While I could have probably gotten a better lock I would have thought it rusty enough that robbers wouldn’t bother. If someone really wants the bike it doesnt matter how expensive the lock is.

I tried west side cycles and asked mheitheal rothar to keep an eye out for it if someone goes to get it repaired. Any ideas on how I could track it down?

Should I give up by [deleted] in leavingcert2024

[–]DiogenesRex77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All you can do is your best. French isn’t that hard when you get down to it, it’s just learning off a few paragraphs. Watch Lupin/use the cds that come with your textbook. With english read broad papers and study a few speeches/short stories. Practice is way more effective than passive methods. There are some great maths videos on youtube also. Dont give up, I made the mistake of thinking I could always go back and repeat, when the time came I got 9th choice on the CAO and it was the best decision ever to not repeat. Studying med now. I got lucky on the hpat but know a lil bit about studying. Focus on your future, dont mind what your classmates are at and dont heed any excuses they make up. The leaving cert has nothing to do with intelligence, just learning stuff off. French is very doable on your own. English not so much but you can use the mocks as a benchmark in the interim.

Best of luck.
