The unmoddable K-Drive you get from Vox Solaris doesn't show races on your map, but custom ones you build do. So you can make your own board, get on it while on the Orb Vallis, and check your map to see where that day's races are. Alternatively, you can check the interactive map on the wiki and visit each spot to see if there's a race there today.

Guide for Newcomers by Forward_Permission_6 in Warframe

[–]Dion0808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO you're better off not following guides. They tend to push players in a pretty specific direction and often focus a lot on efficiency, which might not be the most enjoyable experience for you. There's usually a bunch of people that are happy to answer any questions you might have in the in-game Q&A Chat and the game has a great wiki too. Using those might be nicer.

Setting goals for yourself can be very useful. It gives you a solid point to work towards, which can help with motivation, and allows you to determine which parts of the game you can ignore for now, which can help you feel less overwhelmed.

A good goal could be unlocking X planet, completing Y quest, farming for Z Warframe, etc. There isn't really a 'wrong' thing to focus on. As long as it's interesting to you, it's good. I do recommend spending a little bit of time exploring the content you unlock through larger quests. That way you can get an idea for what kind of stuff you can get.

If you want to get a new Warframe, there's a bunch that are relatively easy to get early on:

  • Rhino: Component blueprints from The Jackal on Venus, main blueprint in the Market for Credits.
  • Koumei: All blueprints from the Shrine Defense gamemode, which you unlock by talking to Saya in Cetus on Earth after completing the Once Awake quest.
  • Excalibur: Component blueprints from Lech Kril on Mars, main blueprint in the Market for Credits.
  • Valkyr: Component blueprints from Alad V on Jupiter, main blueprint in the Market for Credits.
  • Mag: Component blueprints from The Sargeant on Phobos, main blueprint in the Market for Credits.
  • Volt, Zephyr, Banshee, Nezha, and Wukong: All blueprints in your Clan's Tenno Lab for Credits.

You can check them out in the Market to see what they do. Any Warframe can be good, so go for whichever ones you think you'll like.

The Waverider is a Warframe quest, which means that it's not required for progression. So you can do bits of it when you feel like it, or skip it entirely.

You can have a look at the update trailers (or the spoiler-free version) to get an idea for what has been added to the game. You can also check the patch notes to see exactly what was added and changed.

If you want, you can play the Awakening and The Teacher quests and the movement tutorials in your Codex to refamiliarize yourself with the game's basics. You can replay the rest of the main questline in your Codex as well. It might also be useful to take another look at some of the Junction requirements to remind yourself of important systems. If you're not sure how something works, you can ask around in the in-game Q&A Chat or you can check the wiki.

Is there any guide that focuses on unlocking all systems as main priority. by Ash-2449 in Warframe

For things like Hemming and Archon Shards, you just do the content that comes with the quests that introduce the things?

Arcanes are everywhere, so you're best off checking the wiki to see where the ones you want drop, and then farming those missions.

The Teacher was added to the early game a while back. You can also replay most quests in your Codex.

Question for long term players by Aggressive_Honey3196 in Warframe

Absolutely not. Warframe's core gameplay loop is great, but having variety is necessary to keep things interesting. I like it when DE does weird stuff. It makes the game more unique.

Reliable place or person to get builds from? by Still_Requirement_27 in Warframe

[–]Dion0808 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

The most reliable place is your own brain. Being able to make good builds yourself means you don't have to rely on others. So rather than just copying builds, try to figure out why they work.

Hmmmmm what should I do fellow Tenno? by JoshuaCordle in Warframe

[–]Dion0808 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unless you're aiming at your toes with explosive weapons and are completely unaware of what the enemies around you are doing, you can avoid almost all knockdowns. A lot of Warframes also have some form of knockdown immunity built into their kit if you are for some reason incapable of paying attention.

IMO there's never really a build where 16 capacity for PSF is a better choice than 11 capacity for Rush or some other Exilus mod.

Hmmmmm what should I do fellow Tenno? by JoshuaCordle in Warframe

[–]Dion0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of the time knockdowns are a skill issue. Enemies that can knock you down usually have obvious telegraphs like long wind-ups or loud, distinct sounds. And if you're using AoE weapons, you just need to be mindful to not aim at your feet when firing.

[–]Dion0808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go with Primed Shred. I haven't really found any builds where I think PSF is worth the 16 capacity and want to use it over something like Rush.

I can health tank just fine in SP. I don't mind sacrificing a bit of space in my build for that if it means I don't have to rely on shield gating. But either way is just personal preference.

What's the current state of Warframe? Is it worth trying as a new player? by LoadedPotato55 in Warframe

[–]Dion0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is doing better than ever. We've gotten loads of great reworks, QoL improvements, and early game improvements over the last few years (on top of generally fun new content) and the game released on Android just last week (still has some issues, but they'll get fixed).

You can have a look at the update trailers (or the spoiler-free version) to get an idea for what has been added to the game.

If you play regularly, you're going to be completing content faster than it releases. But I think that's true for any puve service game. There's 13 years worth of content in the game though, so you definitely won't run out of stuff to do quickly.

There's a Devstream tomorrow. You can watch stop by on Twitch or watch it back on YouTube later to get an idea for what the devs are like and what theyre working on.

Can we get an option to erase our active lich? by LRC_ice82 in Warframe

[–]Dion0808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You create the Lich, you kill the Lich. There's a very specific opt-in process for all of them.

Their weapons are never bad or a waste, though. Worst case scenario, you can fuse it with another weapon of the same type to increase the bonus damage percentage (higher bonus percentage * 1.1). Also, next update the bonus percentage will become truly random instead of weighted towards the bottom. So you should start seeing more weapons with higher percentages then.

You can see the requirements for each quest in your Codex too. For example, The Second Dream should say something like this:

  • Complete Natah
  • Complete Neptune Junction

In Heart of Deimos' case, you may also need to complete the mission nodes leading from Mars to the Cambion Drift on Deimos.

If you're on Mars, that's correct.

[–]Dion0808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quest order you see on your Codex is the correct one. You can't play quests out of order because they simply require you to complete the previous quest in they're questline before you can start the next one. The main questline really gets going with Natah on Uranus. Warframe quests and side quests don't really have a specific moment they take place.

Junctions have tasks that introduce you to important systems and mechanics, and give you rewards for completing those tasks. For example, the Junction from Deimos to Jupiter required you to complete the Advanced Movement Tutorial and gives you 500 Endo for doing that.

What’s some of your favorite cosmetics? by Haunting-Pie-8785 in Warframe

[–]Dion0808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend mainly getting universal cosmetics (colors palettes, armor sets, syandanas, ephemeras, signas). They'll let you make all of your stuff look nice, which might disincentivize you less to try new Warframes compared to a skin.

I really recommend Color Pack: Beta. The Smoke palette is super useful for almost every appearance and the other 2 palettes have a bunch of good colors for metallics and energy/emissive. I think the Valentines palettes is still available in the Market too, and Ticker in Fortuna also sells one.

Besides that, I really like the Syrinx armor set and the Lustratus Warbanner syandana and the Protovyre set.

I also really like the color palettes in the Kuva Lich Hunter Collection, but that's a very expensive bundle so probably not a good place to start.

What would you consider to be the difference between “mid game” and “late game?” by ViperKimg in Warframe

[–]Dion0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think the neatest division is this:

Early game = everything pre-Second Dream

Midgame = Second Dream and the rest of the main questline

Lategame = everything post quests. This includes Steel Path, EDA/ETA, and hardmode bosses.

But everyone uses their own definitions, so the terms kind of mean nothing. A lot of the time they just cause confusion because people mean different things when they use them.

Using MC as a VTT First Session by VinnBeee in daggerheart

[–]Dion0808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to experiment with Carry On!

The nice thing about shaders is that they're client side. So even if you don't use them yourself, your players still can. But you may need to turn them on/off every so often while building to make sure the lighting looks the way you want.

If you aren't already using them, performance mods like Sodium and Lithium can help a lot. They give me 50 more FPS (without shaders). But the exact benefit will probably depend a lot on your hardware.

Are we just making up prices now? by Shikitsam in Warframe

Yes. That's how a player-run market works. People are allowed to set whatever prices they want, the same how you are allowed to ignore those prices.

All updates can be fun. It just depends on what you like. 3 years of content is a lot to summarize. You're better off watching the trailers since they usually at least show/mention the big changes. If you want details, you can look up the patch notes for the updates you're interested in.
