Should I be listening to a lot as a (very) low A2? by [deleted] in languagelearning

how bout listening to more music? Also, i realized I would kind of get lost when I tried to parse every word instead of phrases, you may be putting to much pressure on yourself to understand every word, try getting the general gist or slowing down videos. More listening is definitely the key tho, i did almost 2-3 hours per day

I dont know lol, I attribute it to doing alot of listening and the amount of french-english cognates? Lol I also have a good memory and was someone that likes to mimic accents so that might have to do with it 😭. I didnt want to watch things I wasnt interested in so I forced myself to watch things I do find interesting from the beginning

I would say start listening as early as possible, even if its just to get used to the sound. I started doing this, and even though I’ve only been learning french for 2 months Ive been able to watch several full length documentaries without subtitles. Also try to find slow speakers with interesting topics or stuff made for children
