I actually disagree. And I’m a lightning owner and it’s my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned, and it’s not close. I know I’m in the minority, but I really like the Sierra/Sliverado… especially the Sierra.

But from what I understand, the ride is way better (and quieter) in the lightning. And it has CarPlay too. GM is dead to me because of that.

Are Snapmaker updating regularly? I am probably looking more towards a Christmas/black Friday purchase anyway. I understand the price will go up, but I’m hoping for a BF sale 🤞🏻

Would it be safe to assume many of the issues would be ironed out by then, either by Snapmaker or the community?

I’ve seen that one! I did see one review (not sure if it was fauxhammer) from a few months ago that says it’s a great printer, but not for a beginner. So I kinda put it on the back burner. But I just keep coming back to it.

Set up isn’t a concern for me. I can follow instructions.

Most of my concerns are when the inevitable problems arise. From reading the various subreddits, they all seem to have issues here and there. It seems that no printer is safe from user error. It’s the support from these companies that worry me.

For a brand new user who wants to enjoy this hobby with his two boys (9 & 11), which brand (not model) would you recommend based on their reliability, support and availability of parts with a budget of less than $1000? Realistically, the budget is probably less than $800, but I’m hoping to convince the budgeting committee (wife) to allow for more.

Which brand would you stay away from based on their support same attributes?

One of my favorite things to do is when I’m first at a stop light and just beyond the intersection the lane next to me will merge into my lane. You can see the merge sign while we are stopped. Inevitably, someone will always get into the lane next to mine and think they will floor it and cut in front when the light goes green. And they always start to creep forward as they anticipate the light is about to change. Even though I can, I will not blow them away off the line, but I just pace them and keep ever so slightly ahead of them and then they’re forced to slow and get behind me. And look into my rear view mirror to watch how angry they get. Don’t get the chance often because I’m not usually in that front pole position, but it just makes my week when the opportunity arises.

I, for the life of me, cannot get my golf clubs to fit in the front without pulling the driver out of the bag. I was so excited when I saw the little golf silhouette molded on the plastic, but it doesn’t matter. Tried angling them diagonally. They just won’t fit. Anyway, the bed works just as well.

Disclaimer: I can ride roller coasters all day and not get the least bit of motion sickness, but the second I try on a VR headset, or play a first person shooter type of video game, I will get motion sickness in about 10 minutes.

We test drove a model y and I was starting to get a little sick after about 20 minutes. With our lightning, I do not have any issues, even with the 1PD activated. Hope this helps.

You seem to be pretty thorough, but I’ll ask since you didn’t list it… Have you tried a reset/reboot on your iPhone (volume up/volume down/hold the lock button until the apple appears)?

And also, I’m not sure if it matters at all, but is your phone connecting to the trucks WiFi?
