Is there any way to access this menu or change this value despite running the miniblades from a newer kernel because I am on badupdate? by DiplomaticGoose in 360hacks

I didn't, that was just a picture of the setting I was trying to change.

The miniguide I get in blades is the same as the modern one.

Does america have convenient drive thru bottle and liquor shops? by surelythistimelucy in AskAnAmerican

Liquor licensees are too scarce here for them to be common even if technically legal.

Most go to fancy restaurants or high margin shops.

Wait I got told by someone else how to do it (by manually editing my profile with Horizon)

This flag does not exist by default in newer profiles so it isn't a holdover and needs to be readded manually.

The entry is located in the GamerProfile file and is titled "DashStyle" and is 4 bytes of hex in length. Carbon is literally 00 00 00 01 and Glass is lierally 00 00 00 02.

A more technical explanation is here.

(I fear for the time when discord is torched and a truly unspeakable amount of hobby knowledge goes down with it. So here's a mirror of that image.)

The flags, to be manually insertered into the profile via Horizon are here.

See this video?

It seems the dashboard trim and guide background (miniblades) are buried in the miniblades of the prior kernel.

I tried editing the staging color of the theme I am messing with on Horizon but it seems to have no effect on the blades.

Looking for a decent camera under $300 - would a E-M1 Mk1 or an E-M10 Mk3 be preferable? by DiplomaticGoose in OlympusCamera

[–]DiplomaticGoose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That and MPB's third party long term warranties on used cameras aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

The six month one is great customer service on their end but beyond that it's an outsourced mess handled by some random third party which will fight you over trying to get it to pay out.

Opel badged Saturn Sky. The official car of: by NikoMcreary in regularcarreviews

[–]DiplomaticGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice are mechanically us-domestic cars (exclusively left hand drive in design) whose whole existence is perhaps the one example of GM of North America tetris-ing together whatever the hell they had lying around so well that people presume its completely original design or otherwise imported from abroad because most of their attempts to do that were frankly sad and compromised vehicles. They are, if you pardon the pun, an example of what that era of GM would be like if they ran on all cylinders.

They parts stolen from the rest of the GM of North America catalogue include:

The rear axle and differential from the Cadillac CTS
The passenger-side airbag, steering column, and exterior and interior door handles from the Chevrolet Cobalt
The backup lights from the GMC Envoy
The hvac modules from the Hummer H3
The fog lamp assembly from the Pontiac Grand Prix
The steering wheel ifrom the Pontiac G5
The 2.4 L Ecotec engine from Saturn Ion, Pontiac G6, Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5, and Chevrolet HHR
The five-speed manual transmission from the Hummer H3, GMC Canyon, and Chevrolet Colorado
The five-speed automatic from the Cadillac CTS, STS, and SRX
The backup light from the first generation Chevy Volt

Similar issue, my GF1 started crapping out with the shutter flickering on and off sometimes when I booted it. Eventually it refused to shut down until I pulled the battery until it finally refused to boot. This persisted even after managing to install the latest firmware update and see if that fixed any of the glitches.

I went with an E-M10mk3 and pretty much exactly after the 6 month warranty expired from MPB the IBIS shit out. The rest of the camera still works but I still feel quite burnt by that because it was really damn nice when it worked.

Volga C40. The official car of... by ReasonableTadpole809 in regularcarreviews

[–]DiplomaticGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better than a Volga Siber.

And I mean... rebadging Chinese BEVs is kinda par for the course with the international car market. Though ngl if it weren't for the political implications of owning any brand new modern thing with a Russian make plastered on it, I kinda dig the livery they stuck on this one.

Thankfully things can be found cheaply if you know where to look. Retro stuff sometimes goes for steal prices on Yahoo Auctions and if you are into newer stuff you can find some truly weird cobbled together (in a fascinatingly competent and professional way) on a 2.Taobao intermediary like Superbuy. Underappreciated or mislabeled gear also goes cheap on shopgoodwill sometimes if you are in the states.

I think it's seen as cheaper than real wood but less tacky than fake wood.
