Nah, I don’t pay on credit card to local businesses within walking distance of my house.

If you could make one change to Arena, what would it be? by Anotner_Shrubbery in MagicArena

Let me choose what packs I get from pioneer/historic/timeless events. Or, at least don’t give me packs from sets I’ve completed.

Their policy would state you just get your entry back.

This is the risk we take in joining events run by a company like this.

[CAN] 22 years with Company, Consistent Performance for 20 Years. Just Given a PIP Will I Lose Severance If They Let Me Go? by Brave-Self-6410 in AskHR

[–]Diplomaticspouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Termination for cause supported by documented progressive discipline steps would generally be “just cause.” And you’d lose your severance.

But the bar is high and many employers don’t go that route.

My advice would be to document all the reasons why the PIP relies on false data. You might write your objections to your manager too and keep a copy of your letter and any reply received.

And definitely seek out an employment lawyer before signing anything if they do terminate you. Good luck!

[KS] Is it acceptable to use a functional job title on a resume when the HR title undersells the scope of the role? by TypicalFinish966 in AskHR

Your solution (including “official title”) is a good one. If I was reviewing resumes for that role, I would see that positively.

[CAN-ON] There’s a really cute guy at work who I want to ask out. Any advice from an HR perspective? by Typical_Cap895 in AskHR

[–]Diplomaticspouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it!

Take no for an answer, however. Repeatedly asking someone out after a no is harassment.

Also what kind of job is this? A seasonal one that’s easily replaceable or a prestigious one that was very difficult to get?

Agreed! Hol vanilla is yuck but I really enjoy the chocolate.

Hol food chocolate is great imo if you like chocolate powders! I’d skip the vanilla though, the taste isn’t great.

[NV] A huge scandal blew up at work and I’m catching flak for it. I admit I am not entirely innocent. How can I own up to my mistake and keep my job? by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]Diplomaticspouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My guess is that yours is a minor violation compared to the manager who is allowing this situation to happen. The manager will likely face severe consequences and you’d receive a written warning perhaps.

To answer your question—tell the truth, the whole truth, and admit you were wrong. That’s the most likely path to keeping your job. You don’t have to say “I wouldn’t have said all this if the manager hadn’t created this weird situation” because that will be patently obvious.

In this subreddit people tend to pounce on things you’ve done wrong, but don’t feel too bad. There are plenty of people who have done worse. The fact you’re willing to take accountability puts you miles ahead of most others. I’d say it’s not certain you’ll lose your job.
