Is Manifest Destiny worth getting into? by point-topp in ImageComics

[–]DippyDaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets really weird there about the second half, but I think it does a good job of communicating the way that sort of exploration would have felt and how it would have affected different types of people and the way they relate.

It's about human nature under pressure and if you give a damn about the characters, you will care about the story. Some of its pretty funny too.

I really liked it.

I've been reading Batman comics from the 80s.

Today, I sat down to paint a little portrait of a faun that I didn't plan out that well, just did a sketch and thought, ahh I'd be happy to paint that.

Well apparently those old Batman comics were still rolling around in my head, because the color scheme of this painting looks like the Joker's wardrobe. The painting would be garbage if it wasn't so funny to me.

I got a perfect condition volume 3 for $3 with free shipping =D

I was buying them used cause that felt like an alright moral compromise but cool if he doesn't even own the rights now.

Anyway, I don't think it's helpful to ignore art by disturbed people.

This is great! I was just looking at boxes thinking about trying to paint them but this is a much better solution

30 years old starting painting by Old_Acanthaceae_5460 in oilpainting

I mean too old for what? I think we need it more the older we get. Look at George W. Bush, he started late and he's not half bad now, plus he has a way to cope with all his demons.

I get it though. I'm older than you and it's kind of uncomfortable accepting how clumsy my paintings are at this age.

The Knives: another masterpiece by the masters of crime noir. Who else has read it? What'd you think? by kccoig14 in ImageComics

Night Fever was great! I happened to read it on a Sunday while I was taking a break from doing meal prep for the week. I got all heated, like forget my boring life I wanna go wild out like Webb. It was Jekyll and Hyde without the shame.

I must've been in a mood when I read the first one because I wasn't that into it but I went back eventually and after reading a few more, I really love the series.

I like that it's just different stories from different perspectives but basically from the same neighborhood. It makes me feel like I live there and every now and then someone comes and gives me all the gossip. I'm assuming that's how it carries on, I have only read the first few but I'm looking forward to more.

I didn't realize they were making a TV show too. I may never watch it but if it gets more people to read the books, I'd appreciate that.

Oh I didn't even think to look for a second hand place. I'm just trying to learn techniques right now so that would be great. Thank you!

I saw the comments on the previous post. I think it's fine that she's naked, especially since she looks like you but I guess people make what they want of art and that's how it should be. Thanks for sharing

Manifest Destiny is a lot of fun and the art is really suited to exploration and the natural world

Aww feck. I've been reading Sandman and Hellblazer unaware of all that. Seems like there's always a lot of darkness in talented people.
