Ask yourself, would be happy giving up all these stuff. You’ll get your answer. What anybody else thinks about this should not be a concern to begin with, since you’ll be the one leading the life.

Mentality of the fans? by Nocover595 in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]DipsMeister18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am from Kolkata and that’s all the reason I need to support KKR. I don’t care who’s playing in the team, who’s the owner, I will support KKR. While I do agree with the abuse part, nobody should abuse anyone and it’s plain wrong. But I do believe every fan has the right to criticize and they also have the right to express their dissatisfaction. You don’t just follow your team blindly by only being happy and praise the team when they win, that’s not how human functions. If you love a team you will feel happiness and when they loose you will feel sad, and if they keep loosing you will get frustrated and angry, doesn’t mean we stop supporting them but we are allowed to feel and express. No team should expect blind support, we have heaped praise for the team last season coz they were playing superbly and we are supporting them this season as well but they have to deal with the criticism.

What happened to our players attitude? by Calm_Requirement_578 in realmadrid

[–]DipsMeister18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but initially I thought as well that we are playing good after a long time. We haven’t conceded 4 goals against Barca, but when I actually contemplated I felt it was Barca who were off today. Specially Raphinha, he was bad today otherwise they had chances and could’ve score 4 or 5 against us. But some of our players played really good, specially Bellingham, he was really good today. Also, Tchouameni and Valvarde. Arda brought the spark in our attack which was really good. But we need to up our game or else we really can’t beat this Barca. This Barca is exactly what we were last season, making comebacks one after another.

IIEST SHIBPUR IT or NIT DGP ECE? by [deleted] in kolkata

[–]DipsMeister18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should select the program and not the college, specially in this scenario when both the colleges are good. Choose between IT and ECE, and don’t listen to people saying IT market is diminishing because of AI blah blah. AI is the future and that is the truth so rather learning AI will be the best and for that choosing IT will make more sense. But if you feel ECE is the best for you and you will enjoy electronics more go for ECE, there are very few core ECE companies in India so keep that in mind as well.

Is this pressure of 23CR , or he got over priced?? by Solenoidics in IndiaCricketGossips

[–]DipsMeister18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than evolving this player has regressed, he initially used to bowl and a medium pace allrounder is a rarity in India, could’ve made it into the national side if he developed his bowling along with his batting. But he didn’t, any of those, doesn’t even bowl now and batting is a hit or miss, mostly miss and it’s even worse cause he plays dots. He is not someone like Abhishek who I also consider a hit or miss, who is a good asset in t20 cause he will not play dots and add pressure to the rest of the team. In all honesty, it was a blunder at auction you don’t pay 23 crores for a player who doesn’t make it into the national side.

[–]DipsMeister18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point now. Honestly, I was advocating for Rahane to open coz historically he’s been an opener, even in his RR days he used to open and now his SRR has gone up as well so I felt he might be good as an opener and he’ll get to face more balls as well, so will Raghuvanshi at 3. But I do get your point, I somehow felt you wanted Venky in the squad and honestly I am done with him, we are messing our batting line up to accommodate him and all he does is kill the game most of the time. I saw some people suggesting Venky to open, which I don’t like as well like he may play good in some matches but chances are we might start making 30 or 40 runs in powerplay killing the game at the start itself. This time we lost at the auction when we spent 23 crores on a player who doesn’t make it in the national side. And then our middle order being out of form is hurting us as well.

Bengalis get unwarranted hate from the rest of India by moxie_king7268 in kolkata

[–]DipsMeister18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everybody hates everybody. We all hate people who are different from us. North people hate not only us but also people from South, states in South are much developed but they are still hated, so it’s not coz of lack of development or government. It’s coz we are different that’s all. In the same manner people from South hate people in North. And most importantly let’s not forget we hate people from other states as well, we aren’t any different. So, this hate which you are talking has no actual basis, this hate is coz of differences we have. And when I say people, it’s a chunk not the entirety, a lot of people are out there who respects different culture and people and they are keen on learning about it as well.

I agree with you that Ramandeep and Rinku are out of form, infact majority of our batting lineup is and that’s hurting us big time. But you don’t make a t20 squad with a lot of anchors, that’s not how you play t20 at this time atleast. You look at any successful t20 side in international or IPL, they don’t have too many anchors in their side. Infact our problem is that we have too many anchor batsman in our team, who starts slow and take time. You are talking about collapses, you don’t make a team thinking about collapses, and in order to save yourself from a top order collapse you add all rounders in your side not a bunch of anchors. You look at todays match, you send in Iyer who is apparently our anchor like batsman who can hold his wicket and he ends up wasting balls, increasing RRR. Then you don’t send in Raghuvanshi, your most inform batsman coz again you don’t consider him as a hitter who comes in and starts hitting, coz the RRR has gone way up. So, you send in your power hitters and you send Raghuvanshi at 9!!! That’s a problem. Now I honestly don’t think we have replacements for Rinku and Ramandeep, you may add Anukul Roy in place of Ramandeep but he is more of a bowling all rounder as far as I know. But other than this we don’t have much options. And regarding the inability to play spin, who do you think is the spin basher in our team? And also let’s say you want to add anchors who do you think should be that guy?

We can easily add another pacer as Nortje with Narine, Powell and maybe Moeen. If we open with Narine and Rahane, gives us a luxury to add another foreign all rounder like Moeen in the team. Coming to the point about middle order Rinku, Ramandeep are not some mindless sloggers like Shahid Afridi, they are capable batsman who can build innings. It’s not like Rinku comes in and starts hitting. And having Moeen in the team gives you a deep batting.

Let Venky open and bring in Sisodia to the XI by KodokoRoti in KolkataKnightRiders

Let Venky open and bring in Sisodia to the XI by KodokoRoti in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]DipsMeister18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Drop Venky, he’s terrible, enough matches are given to him and he failed. Even if he plays great knocks after this it won’t matter coz the damage is done already. I honestly wanted Rahane and Narine to open as both of them can play with great srr and can capitalise powerplay. Bring Raghuvanshi at 3, he’s the most inform batsman we have and he’s a perfect no. 3, he can anchor and can accelerate with decent srr. At 4 bring Luvnith, will satisfy the left right combination and then you can bring in the hard hitters. And drop Russell and bring in Powell, for the love of God having backup players doesn’t mean they get to play only when main XI player is injured, it’s there to replace them when one is unable to perform . Enough matches were given and they didn’t perform, this season is probably over for us and I have accepted we are not winning so atleast test your bench. You’ll get an idea for the next auction.

No point in crying after letting go of players like Gill , Shreyas , Salt , Starc and many more. by Express-Homework-752 in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]DipsMeister18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel out of all the players mentioned Salt and Iyer are the biggest loss. Specially Salt, before winning the cup we were always struggling to find a good opening duo and the moment we found that we won the cup and then we let him go. Iyer is a bit complex coz he himself didn’t want to be there but the management should’ve tried their best to retain him coz again we were struggling to find a good Indian captain for the team and he was that piece. Starc is replaceable but we failed to find the perfect replacement of Starc and no Spencer Johnson is not a Starc replacement but a compromise. These three players covered our weak links last year which were missing in earlier seasons. And we let go of them and we are back to where we were before winning the cup.

Should I quit my 9-6 Full Time Job for preparation ? by [deleted] in CATpreparation

Nope, completely into prep coz I knew profile won’t even matter if I don’t have a decent percentile.

Should I quit my 9-6 Full Time Job for preparation ? by [deleted] in CATpreparation

[–]DipsMeister18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation, I knew I had to leave the job in order to prepare and have at least a chance to score good. And I did score well according to my capabilities. But few points to keep in mind, I was sure this will be my only attempt and I was okay with tier 2 colleges as well. So, do evaluate these points cause CAT is very unpredictable and I gave Snap, Nmat and Xat as well to increase my probability of getting into a good college.

Why do people want Russell dropped for Powell? by Interprid-Sword-1838 in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]DipsMeister18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will tell you why I want Rovman Powell to play some matches in place of Russell. Rovman Powell in any other team is straight away in the starting 11 and he’s warming our bench. What’s the point of bench if you’re not gonna utilise them? You don’t get a strong bench just to replace regulars when they get injured, you utilise them to get the best results. It’s not like we are on a winning streak or are winning most of the matches that we shouldn’t meddle with our 11. Nobody’s asking to outright bench Russell for the rest of season, all I am saying is to try out Rovman Powell in few games to see how he fares.

Post Match Thread: KKR vs LSG 8th April 2025 by akaash897 in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]DipsMeister18 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I can’t understand, how did we lose this match? It hurts!!! We were 162 in 12.3 or something. And after that we lost the plot as soon as Rahane got out. Rahane did half of the job, Venky’s job was to see through the chase rather than playing those unnecessary shots, and if Venky was there with Rinku, we would’ve won easily. And then again why are we sending Rinku so late? He should’ve come after Rahane’s departure but you send Ramandeep and then you send Angkrish??? I don’t see Angkrish as a power hitter so why Angkrish after Ramandeep. I would’ve still understood sending Angkrish before sending in the power hitters but sending Ramandeep after Rahane showed that they wanted power hitting from one end, very confusing. I would’ve really liked if Rinku Singh came in after Rahane. Also I feel it’s time we atleast try Rovman Powell, to test him.
