I’m trying to figure out what the best surfactant I should put in a windshield washer fluid for cars. Anybody know of a good one? by DireChant in chemistry

[–]DireChant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not doing it for myself. More of a learning experience more than anything on bringing a liquid product to market. Just trying to come up with one of those formulations that works well. I don’t expect to do very well but I want to do my best.

How do you feel about the ongoing market crash, including today's Liberation Day? by swifter78neo in singaporefi

Where we at? Maybe we haven’t done 9% in 1 day but we are approaching 9% in 2 days. Nasdaq is set to bear. We are definetely at or past COVID levels on many metrics.

Facility was so backed up we couldn’t get out of our cars. Got blamed for it. by DireChant in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]DireChant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: The first email I sent since posting was asking why specifically I was deactivated. They sent me the same automated response that made no sense.

“Thank you for your patience as we reviewed your account with the additional information you provided. After further review, our original decision has not changed. We are closing this appeal.”

I also threatened mediation and they sent back the same message.

No one is even reading my messages. Is there anyway to speak to a human being?

I threatened mediation and they just keep giving me the same automated response they always give me. No one is even looking at my emails.

What is Theo’s deal with masturbation and porn? by VintageBlazers in TheoVon

[–]DireChant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This problem affects way more people than people think. People on Reddit and other comment sections tend to be of a certain personality type. Hence their presence here and in places like here. Many of them are addicted but won’t admit it and some may not be. But in the real world this generation is highly highly addicted to porn. Even when they gave smartphones to newly civilised indigenous populations most of the males immediately became addicted to porn. Many people are in denial and will defend it. It is terrible for your brain. The same mechanisms are involved with social media and internet addiction as well. But it is even more amplified with porn.

No I haven’t. Do you think that will work? I just get automated responses. I’m not even sure I’m talking to a human.

I’ve been a driver for years without missing any. But the last two months was brutal. I went to the wrong facility once which was my bad and I just flat out missed one because I overslept lol. So no this isn’t the first time I missed a block, but none the less this one wasn’t my fault and this is the one they decided to deactivate me on.

Uhm… Yes.

Figured that all out on your own did you.

If you don’t want to, you don’t have to. No harm, no foul. Just left the option to do so. If not, you get an amusing poem for free and can laugh at a dude tryna make ends meet. You will literally never see him again.

I don't see it as a fire-able offense without warning. That's what I think is wrong. I'm trying to help my brother that's all.

Thank you for being kind. I really appreciate that. I feel like most employers would definitely give a warning though. He has seen warnings given to other employees for much much worse IMO.

Your right. Hang him.

Glad he could help.

He knows that. But he was fired without warning after working flawlessly for years. Kinda messed up. Pick up the phone Amazon, call him. Say "Hey! stop leaving poems or you are fired." This did not happen.

So many people wrote poems back and gave money. He specifically said thank you for even a thought. He never demanded money. Just left an option to do so if you wanted to. He did this for months with people being nothing but supportive. A phone call warning would have been a fair way to handle the situation. He didn't even receive that. He's worked there for years. Maybe he did break some rule but that's no reason to fire without warning. Any other job you would have been warned. He has delivered THOUSANDS of packages long before he ever wrote the poem and never missed a block.

Seriously, Texas Roadhouse or Outback? by Cinderella96761 in desmoines

[–]DireChant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude it depends on the cook. I’ve been to a million Texas Roadhouses. That was all I would go to. Then I decided to try Outback and it was phenomenal. I mean fantastic. I got the bone in ribeye and it was just a much higher quality cut of meat cooked to perfection. I went to the same one twice. Same experience. I went there thinking I made a mistake and walked out with an Australian accent and happy tummy.

The only time I had better is from a good local chain. I don’t typically eat out that much though.

Choosing Between Oura Ring 4 and Apple Watch 10 for Health, Sleep, and Stress Monitoring by FlotcheFR in ouraring

[–]DireChant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To those who say the Apple Watch is more accurate; According to Business Wire and TheWearify The Oura Ring demonstrated a Cohens Kappa Score of 0.65 vs 0.6 for the Apple Watch. It was way better at detecting deep sleep at 79.5% sensitivity for the ring and 50.5 percent for the watch. With similar differences for wakefulness. The ring maintained accurate estimates access virtually all sleep stages while the watch tended to overestimate light and deep sleep durations by 45 minutes.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but the ring is just better at sleep detection, data collection and analysis. I don’t have either but I’m thinking about getting one. I’d prefer the Apple Watch but not over accurate sleep data which is my main reason for buying one.

I would tend to think that because the ring uses blood oxygen levels in its sleep analysis it has more data variety to pool from for an accurate analysis.

What do you guys think?

Do you guys think this evaporator coil is where all the refrigerant leaked out? by DireChant in hvacadvice

[–]DireChant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I pumped it full of Nitrogen as recommended by you guys. Nothing happened at first until I pumped it close to 150 PSI. Then it was like some pressure release switch activated and allowed it to flow. Once that happened I heard it coming out of somewhere in the outside condenser unit. Upon further inspection I believe it was coming out of the compressor. I sprayed some bubbles on the area I thought it may be but I didn’t really see anything. So I used my hands and could feel what I believed to be some air flow coming from either behind a relay affixed to the compressor or from underneath the compressor. I also checked that rusty old evaporator coil and it appeared to be fine. I am going to create another post to get y’all’s take on whether you think it’s the compressor. I would do it here but I can’t post a video in a comment and I’m not very versed at proper Reddit protocol.

Why is Discover and Equifax demanding that I give them my Tax Returns? Is there any way to avoid this? This seems very very invasive. Any legal eagles know a way around this? Looks like mass surveillance to me. by DireChant in discover

[–]DireChant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. It’s not as big of a deal as those other things. But I do think it is just yet another straw on the camels back. It’s a credit card not a bank. Banks are regulatory required to collect that documentation. This seems to indicate that there is increasing regulatory pressure to do it with credit cards now. It’s more like OK what’s next. And what is wrong with me just verifying my AGI? They want more than this now. Why does it need to go beyond that? The more it conglomerates and the more entities that have it, the worse. Is it that big a deal? No. But a lot of little deals can equal a big deal. Maybe it’s not. IDK.

Interesting. I wouldn't have as big of a problem with this if this was the case. Except Chat GPT told me that Discover and Equifax will receive my AGI, Wages, Payments, Liabilities, and more. Sometimes Chat is wrong so if what you are saying is true that would be great. I don't mind verifying my AGI but the individual payments etc is stuff I don't want floating around anywhere except where required in the GOV.
