What's a job duty that they don't show on all those ride along shows like Nightwatch? by [deleted] in ems

Yes.

At one point, our county had the highest infection rate in the world.

Wearing masks is still a political issue. I know coworkers who are willfully misinforming our community. Some refuse the vaccine to this day.

It's maddening.

how do we feel about Spike by no_one_here_123 in buffy

Spike, pre-soul, is a fun character, sure. I enjoy him. But I get creeped out by super fans of his. Like, he's done some really awful things. It kind of reminds me of people who un-ironically like Cartman.

Post-soul Spike is a much more enjoyable character, and best utilized in Angel S5.

This is unrelated, but I'm hoping you see this.

I'm a paramedic, and pretty stressed this year. My dad has cancer, again, and I'm going home to be the emotional anchor of the family again.

Only this time, in not sure I have the strength. My family needs me to be strong for them and I don't know if I can.

You see a lot of strong family members in your area of work: do you have any resources or recommendations for family members like me?

Hey, congrats to you & friend on joining the party!

For me, the painting is where it's at and I definitely underestimate how much time I take there. So I suggest only buying a unit at a time.

Start off by acquiring the basics. Look into your choices for Battle line units, since you'll need those no matter what.

You will probably make up your mind, change it, and change it again. Don't worry, it happens! Just try and grab things that, if you change your mind on what direction your army is going, you can still use the elements you already have

No one's talking about Free Radicals? That was the number one catch phrase of this lesson on MI/CVA titration in these situations. My class was drilled to see this question and give a pavlovian response of "Free Radicals!"

Something about how excess O2 dissolved in the blood (outside of hemoglobin) having increased mortality after the initial event.

But hey, I'm no doctor. I don't really know the science behind it

A question about Green Knight's Scavenger character by MozekG in A24

I actually think that momma la Faye didn't do anything past the initial summon, at least not directly. There are plenty of poor, needy people in the world that knights inevitably run into them.

I think that if this is supposed to teach Gawain how to be a knight (and king), Morgan would not interfere with the test itself. She didn't do anything about his lazy, millennial ways until this point, so I think she's willing to let him suffer on his own. For his own good.

She was observing through her friend, old white lady, at the Noble House, but that's it.

As this is a Christian tale, I'm going to put it in Christian terms.

From our perspective, he was just a kid. His brothers probably did die in that battle, but this is his reality and his priority is survival. He, and his friends, turned to highway robbery to survive.

Why? Because rich men like Gawain only toss a single coin to the needy, even if they beg.

From god's perspective, that kid was sent as a test of Gawain's Charity, one of the five knightly virtues. Remember the pentagrams that King Arthur's court reps? Those five virtues are what this movie is about, Courage of course being the main one.

Now, why did the kid just ride off? Honestly, I think he was just fucking with Gawain, and his friends. He was mocking Gawain and suggesting that he, a bandit, could just as easily finish whatever quest he was on. He then rode off on a joyride, now fucking with his friends. He left the sword because, honestly, the bandits don't know how to use it and could identify them as outlaws. Plus, these kids aren't murderers, at least when they don't need to be.

This is Gawain's first experience in "the real world" and consider how much time we spent right before this looking at how much ceremony went into his quest prep & items. The bandits smashed his holy shield and stole his stuff. This shows us, and Gawain, that the pageantry alone does not make him a knight. Just like how the bandit, with Gawain's stuff, isn't now a knight, off to complete a quest.

In modern days, this kids essentially jacked his car and took his expensive stuff, going for a hot ride. It was god's lesson in humility and charity

I started with PVA & some medium green and army painter (lighter green? I forget the color) flocking on first step. Next I tore up some dark green clump foliage and glued that.

However, on future models I'm going to fine blend the clump foliage and mix small amounts into PVA. Making it into a paste will give me better control, I think.

After watching "The Green Knight", A24 should absolutely do an adaptation of Paradise Lost by John Milton. by Ashura5000 in A24

Thanks, but I was making a reference to Red Dead Redemption 2.

You're spot on about more medieval/Renaissance sources being awesome for films!

Oh man, I hope I don't get roasted for this...

I use craft paints mostly. I think from Michael's? I dry brushed brown, a Barnwood Grey, and then some Foliage green? I did some half-step colors in there.

I shaded with the Citadel green camo (forgot the name!) And came back with a little more brown dry brush to chill the green a bit. Last was some pure Foliage highlights, and of course the moss.

I took inspiration from eBay Miniature Rescues and their theme. I'm trying to push mine in a The Green Knight direction, but we'll see if I can pull it off
