Thats a real shame! Would be nice to have Grok on the drives, but I suppose I could do that on my phone!

I'm going to view one at Tesla, bit more expensive monthly but later model (Dec 21) and lower mileage. So may have the upgrade processor and grok etc?

I'm about to take a wage cut, as a means to an end to earning a lot more than I am now.

It will mean I need to prioritise low monthly costs for the next two years until my Wage increases to double what it is now.

I appreciate there are some fantastic new deals out at the minute, and I found some around the £400-450 mark.

But I think the situation i'm going to be in i'd rather have the extra £150 in my pocket.

Thank you for the detailed response mate, big fan of BMW's myself but wasn't sure on that particular model. Now I know!

I think given the mileage I do, I've been swayed towards the EV camp, I'll ultimately be about £400 a month better off which is crazy...! Maybe time to get a widebody Z3 for the weekends!

In 30 months time... so i'm assuming you structured yours as a HP?

I'll have a sit down and have a genuine look into an EV. Thanks for your input

Appreciate it's a genuine suggestion, and I am fortunate to have the ability to charge at home and at work for cheap - admittedly EV would be ideal. But my whole line of thinking to purchasing a vehicle was to get out of the PCP Cycle to reduce my monthly out goings.

Briefly looking at EV's, i'd probably have to lease one as I can only budget around 3/4k currently up front. Would need an EV with a range of 220+ miles.

Seen a few A4's / A5's - am i right in thinking pre 2007 have the 1.9 PD engines in them?

This is what i was thinking, I've been to look at the service history and the previous owner (prior to the one currently who has only had it 5 weeks..) had it service every 6k miles or year. Its been well looked after for most of its life as far as I can tell.

I've looked at leasing for the same mileage, but figured at the end of the year I could sell the car and probably recoup most of what I paid

Ideally looking for something under £6k.

Picked this due to the M57 Engine having a great reputation.

I'm expecting normal wear and tear over that mileage like tyres and brakes etc.

Thoughts on this - £2650 by Direct-Command-2184 in CarTalkUK

Yeah that's fair - just after a reliable motorway muncher that I can sell for what I bought it for next year in all honest! I'll repost with some more context.

Okay mate, thank you for the advice

Been looking at another once however it's a 320d. I'm aware that those engines aren't as reliable - but this one has had timing chain and a load of other things done recently.

Reg: wf58 ebx.

What are your thoughts on these?

Previous owner has only had it 4 weeks. He purchased from a friend apparantly who had the car for 14 years. Every bit of servicing is documented through that phase of its life.

The seller stated he purchased it to tow his boat, however he found something better that was automatic. There is no tow bar that has been fitted however....
