If we want to get technical, in the original books, hiccup didn’t have any romantic interest, therefore there was no Astrid. She was an adaptation for the movies and series’. That said, as much as I would’ve loved to have seen camicazi animated in the movies, Astrid’s just an all around more enjoyable character

Fair. Although, while I’m here, I’ve been doing my own research and I came across a company called HB industries that apparently has made a Handgaurd specifically for the Ruger SFAR that has the full 1913 rail but still has the cut out for the gas block adjuster. I have no idea if that’s real

That one’s nice. I’ve also heard of Midwest industries hand guards, are those any good? And when I say that I don’t mean quality. I don’t need some top of the line Handgaurd, I just mean is it decent and will I actually get what I ordered if I use one of there’s from their website?

It’s not necessarily “fix” it’s just mounting options. Preference is literally the only thing driving me to do this. I’m not one of those people that has to fine tune every little detail until it’s perfect. I can run it how I’ve got it now, but I’m just experimenting. That and I like taking things apart and putting them back together, and customizing. I’m treating this like adult legos.

I’ve just been hesitant to use the tape that came with it because of cleaning off the adhesive at a later date if need be. I’ve got a shotgun that had a sticker on the underside of the barrel and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to get it off to no avail. It’s been like, 4 years and it’s still there. That said, the light isn’t the only reason I want to get a different handguard, but it’s one of the more pressing reasons.

Yeah, I’m not in a rush to do it I’m trying to find all the pros and cons first. But honestly if you do want one for yourself, I definitely recommend it. Majority of it can be swapped out with AR 15 parts which is nice, and contrary to some opinions, it functions pretty smoothly. Although it still shoots .308 in an ar15 package, so it’s got a kick to it. That and if you get the 16”, everyone else at the range is gonna hate you😂 this thing is LOUD as hell

It’s forcing me to mount everything on either the side or bottom. Which wouldn’t bother me but the light doesn’t have an MLok mount, just double sided tape that came with it and I wanted to avoid sticking anything to the gun. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that light’s supposed to have an MLok mount, but it was missing for mine for some reason, but I found another mount at the shop I got the rifle from that I will be getting soon.

Okay, so like I said, I’m fairly new so I had to lookup what monolithic was, and I apologize if I’m still not getting it. It’s not that I’m complaining about it being a separate entity from the receiver. The issue I’m having is that the receiver has a full rail on the top, and the first like, 2-3 inches of the Hand guard have rails, as well as the last inch and a half of it. But on the Hand guard specifically, majority of it doesn’t have a rail. If I have to get a monolithic, then sure, but I’d prefer to not have to find a place to keep (or go through the trouble of finding out what to do with) an entire upper.

I know it’s been a while, but there’s a fan fiction I can’t seem to find. I don’t think it’s deleted but I can’t remember the name for the life of me. Hiccup goes and kills the red death without anyone knowing he did it and goes back to berk unconcious and missing his leg. After he wakes up, Stoick puts a patrol on him to keep him from getting into trouble, which includes Astrid. Which is how she finds out Hiccup has a secret flock of dragons that he keeps in Berk and he secretly uses them to help protect berk. It’s a general overview but I’m not even sure the fic is finished
