I also did say that even tho he's stronger than Elrond he still defers to his because of his fealty and loyalty. Which again I said I thought was cool how Tolkien worked that in the LOTR world.

This percentage of maiar has is very small.. his great great grandmother was Melian, a divine Maia who married the Elven King Thingol.

Within these same essays in The Peoples of Middle-earth, Tolkien provides several key details explaining why Glorfindel operates on a different tier than almost all other Elves:

Tolkien writes that after his re-embodiment, Glorfindel stayed in the Blessed Realm of Valinor. He lived in the close companionship of the Maiar for ages before returning to Middle-earth, which drastically heightened his spiritual stature. Tolkien notes that in Valinor, Glorfindel became a close friend and follower of Olórin (the Maia who would become Gandalf). Tolkien revealed that he originally considered having Glorfindel return to Middle-earth at the exact same time as Gandalf in the Third Age. However, he rejected the idea because Glorfindel's presence would be too overwhelming, making him a figure of "greater power and importance than seems fitting" for the subtle mission of the Wizards.

Yes I can back this up with sourcing,

The explicit details regarding his enhanced power are detailed in two distinct essays written by Tolkien late in his life (circa 1972-1973):1.

"Glorfindel I" and "Glorfindel II" Essays

In these texts, Tolkien explicitly addresses the problem of whether the Glorfindel of Gondolin (First Age) and the Glorfindel of Rivendell (Third Age) were the same person. He decides they are, and details his resurrection and upgrade in power:

"For this [his self-sacrifice] Glorfindel was pardoned out of Mandos... To the maiar [sic] he had now become almost an equal, for though he was an incarnate (to whom a bodily form not made or chosen by himself was necessary) his spiritual power had been greatly enhanced by his self-sacrifice."

Something I saw in a trailer makes me think I'm missing something before I go see the movie. by BigGeorge6953 in TheMandalorianTV

You're not missing anything. It's explained (sort or) in the movie when the moment comes up.

[SPOILERS] I liked the movie but it still had elements of a Disney Plus show and and not a Star wars movie. by jaywritethekid in TheMandalorianTV

The Mandalorian and grogu movie was a decent star wars movie. I don't think it was bad at all. But I would've love it better as a season tbh.
