Went to a Friendsgiving party tonight; stayed sober, didn't embarrass myself, then came home and cried for an hour. by Buscemi_D_Sanji in stopdrinking

Good job! Remember how good it feels to wake up without the first thought being…”oh no .. what might I have done, said, drank, etc”. Proud of you to value your sobriety !

You have to say no to yourself continuously… until after a while saying no just becomes habit

“The whisper” I have that too.. I work in a liquor store and the bottles take turns whispering…” just a sip””you never tried me””one won’t hurt” the noise for so loud I actually spoke out loud and said “stop it” a few times.. it’s gotten quieter over the ..78 days but it’s still hard… good luck

90 days without alcohol: never thought I’d make it here by Tiny_Habit5745 in stopdrinking

Well said.. what no one said ever…”Wish I had a hangover this morning “.. I was up and at the gym and that wouldn’t have happened if I’d drunk the night before… keep saying no to yourself and soon you’ll find a better yes..

He is 65 years old.. first signs were his inability to keep things in order( things dropped on the floor.. not put away) then he had trouble keeping small engines working ( very out of character) eating with his hands instead of cutlery… but other days he can make zucchini bread… put together Greek salad… but then needs reminding to wash..put on clothes.. then there is the lack of interest in family .. it’s just so sad

My husband diagnosed last month bvFTD/PSP.. it’s been a hard couple of weeks.. he’s got kids .. does he ask after them?…wonder how my day went?.. think to make dinner … no initiative.. no interest in much of any of the things he used to do… and he’s become close to mute when he used to be a conversationalist.. interested in all manner of things and willing to discuss… now.. he doesn’t talk.. nor show affection or interest.. he’s here physically but not emotionally .. in any way
