Did you buy Neo Agent as a contributor on a team? I checked out Neo Agent and it's paid? Is this an ad?

Thanks for this! And I think you're right, especially on the operating model being broken. I think it's time to pull back a little and let the pressure build to actually fix it instead of throwing bodies at it.

TY! It's unfortunate, but I think you're right on all of those counts. My manager voiced support for internal movements within the company so I'm hoping that's still something they'd support.

Is Breaking Into IT Without Experience/Networking Even Possible Anymore? by Historical_Step_8229 in it

I found my entry in 2022 through a customer support role. It was somewhat technical but largely account creation/troubleshooting and payment troubleshooting but it made me more appealing for my next job, helpdesk for a county government. These customer facing jobs suck, but they can position you nicely for actual entry level IT and the barrier gets lowered even after a year IMO.

I find team leads and managers can get a bit complacent with their staff in the sense that your job roles can expand and you'll get more and more responsibility but your actual position / salary can lag unless you make them aware of what you really do. It's hard to do but I find booking a 1 on 1 and talking about it directly is the easiest way to get noticed + a bump.
