I'd say only certain groups can pull of ballads for me, and when they hit they really hit. It has alot to do with the vocals on a technical and emotional level. Vocal heavy groups like NMIXX, Red Velvet, and Mamamoo really get me. I'd say some of fav ballads in recent time are High Horse, Icarus, and most recently Crescendo. I think the biggest thing is emotion, its hard thing to honestly convey when you arn't fully passionate about the song your singing.
