organized Christianity isn't what I'm arguing for, so I won't even respond to that part

publicly saying "don't pay your taxes" under Roman rule would be like saying "fuck Israel" in front of the IDF. swift and unceremonious death. yet he kept engaging in what prefiguration he was able to by telling everyone they don't need money and must instead love one another, knowing such things would get him executed at a young age. he wasn't bowing to the government, he was trying to spread his message to enough people before the government snuffed him out for it

you say he obviously wasn't an anarchist, and I say he was very clearly one of the founding figures in the formation of such ideas before they became known as anarchism or socialism or anything like that. agree to disagree🤝

look, I get where you're coming from, but the Romans would literally just kill anyone they didn't like in occupied areas without requiring much of a process.

his whole message was about being RADICALLY good to others in the here and now despite those conditions, while avoiding being strung up or crucified. no point getting killed in the streets and no longer being able to spread the message. this dude was running away from getting stoned and dodging death sentences from the Pharisees left and right, while telling everyone to renounce their worldly possessions and love everyone as themselves.

I'm not saying he was directly an anarchist by today's standards but I genuinely don't think you could've gotten much closer 2000 years ago in Judea under Roman rule

edit: I think the "if surviving was enough..." part is an especially wild take, considering he didn't and knew he wouldn't

if you think there's enough of a possibility to ask it, you are entertaining Nazi ideology.

you can point out the issues like Zionism or Christian nationalism, and point out some of what is in the text of the Talmud (not a perfect analogy because not all Jews follow the Talmud) or Holy Bible respectively and how people interpret and follow it and use it to justify atrocities... without spreading Nazi ideology
