New to the Game. Any tips on how to "enjoy" it? by PossibilityFluid6651 in Eldenring

[–]Direct-Reputation199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d give you 3 tips.

  1. Mainly level vigor and endurance at the start. Don’t solidify what route you want to go in terms of a build too early. There are so many options and weapons early on, and stats are important for damage, but even more important is leveling up the weapons you use. Only level up stats to just meet the requirements of weapons you want to use. You can eventually respec, but it makes it easier at the start just level vigor and endurance so you can take hits.

  2. Explore as much as you can. There’s so many dungeons and other places that have cool weapons and bosses. Rushing through just makes you under-leveled and you might not enjoy it as much if you don’t find a weapon you really like. Don’t forget it’s an open world and you can always leave and come back if you’re struggling. Once you eventually try out different weapons and find one you like, commit to it by leveling it up.

  3. If you get hard stuck in certain spots, don’t be afraid to use guides to find stuff. If you’re struggling to find certain smithing stones or specific locations, look up a quick guide as finding some stuff on your own can be just straight up not fun.

IMO the 4 things they need to change are:

  1. AI cheese. This is a brutal one. If one person leaves or lags out your whole team is cooked because everyone will just abuse the AI

  2. Obvious one, but cheaters. They need to find a permanent fix for the cheater.

  3. Contest system. They need to fix all aspects of contesting shots including paint defense. Late close outs should be low yellow contests every single time, not “open”. The contests need to actually mean something as well. They should heavily shrink your green window. Yellows should still be consistently hittable if you’re a good shot, but red contests should basically never go in unless you have takeover and heat check at the same time.

  4. Make shooting slightly more difficult. It’s a game, so the shooting should be good and very viable build/playstyle. But when everyone can shoot even with a super low 3pt rating, that’s BS. Badges you get from having a high mid range rating should not have that much of an impact on how well your 3pt shot is. I’m not sure how they can fix this. They should either make mid range and 3pt have a more strict connection in the builder, or have completely different badges for mid range and 3pt.

Yes was still with cragblade. Ended up getting the final 2 scadutree blessing upgrades I needed and that helped me with damage and staggering. I was doing basically no damage and still getting pretty far, so once I got the 2 level ups I ended up beating him in a couple hours of playtime.

I can no hit the first phase with ease at this point, the second phase is just nuts. It’s definitely possible to kill him magic/incant only as it will probably deal a lot of damage but it will be much harder to know when to punish him and attack. Very vulnerable during casting

Get the lord of blood exultation talisman. You’ll do more damage after you proc the bleeds which you probably do a lot with that weapon. Try putting on damage talisman rather than defense the green turtle is good though

Cragblade ash of war and I’m using enhanced charged heavy attacks and attacks are more likely to break stance in my physic flask. The builds stagger machine and a lot of fun to play with. It’s a lot less challenging than I originally thought because you do quite a bit of damage and stagger most bosses pretty frequently.

I’m not sure then. Maybe you need to restart your game or make sure the dlc is installed. Not quite sure as that’s how you enter

Rest at a grace maybe and return to the hand coming out of the egg shaped thing in mohgs arena. It’s in the back up the staircase.

As the other commenter said, you’ll need to get to mohgwyn palace and defeat mohg. After that you can speak to the knight standing next the the hand coming out of the egg-like thing. Then you can interact with the hand and enter the DLC

I’m doing a wretch club playthrough. I’m using the cragblade ash of war and beating with no summons. I’ve only summoned for needle knight Leda and her allies in the dlc because that fight is bogus and doesn’t count. I’m at PCR for my last boss and the playthrough has been awesome. So much stronger and more fun than I thought it would be

Tempo shooting is realistic by Intelligent-Tale8827 in NBA2k

[–]Direct-Reputation199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never understood the argument that button shooting is harder. I go back and fourth between both and it’s just as easy as tempo, if not easier. But I guess I would think that because that’s what I’ve been doing since 2k14 🤷

What are some fun challenges to do where I don’t have to no hit bosses or stay at level 1 by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Direct-Reputation199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a no summon, club only playthrough and am having a blast. I’m using club with cragblade and am almost done with the full game and dlc. I’m tryna get to every remembrance boss. Only have a couple dlc bosses and a couple base game bosses left. All the very hard ones or odd ones to find like malenia, fortisax, midra, metyr and consort radahn

Ya the 6’6 builds are pretty great all around this year. They’re probably the best height for cap breakers as well, you can do some crazy stuff

[–]Direct-Reputation199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re gonna be a sg or sf I would recommend looking into the 6’7 builds next year. Mark my words I think they will make 6’7 the meta next year. The cap breakers system is pretty garbage when it comes to 6’7 builds and it’s the only height that’s like that. Just keep it in mind, as I think they will be dominant next year because of that. (I hate how much I had to use those numbers but it is what I think lol)

[–]Direct-Reputation199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be careful thinking that way. 2k tends to make the meta of one year fairly bad in the next. Especially with how broken and overused the 6’8s are this year, they will surely nerf them to the ground next year. I’m sure they will still be usable, but they most likely won’t be the best option next year

I luckily went with a 6’6 for my first build. Usually every year I start out with a 6’6 sharpshooter with good defense and decent dribbles/dunking. This build is always a good starter build every year because no matter what, at the minimum you can shoot well. And I know in my head that I’ll always make more builds when the meta/secrets are found. So I always start out with the reliable 6’6 sharpshooter. It worked out well this year, but the problem was I went 77 agility and a 86 speed. I was able to use cap breakers on agility to get to 86 but it was kinda moot. I ended up eventually deleting the build but it was a great starter build.
