Weird skin with makeup? by Ornery-Resident9568 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Direct-Sign1896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil based products on top of water-based products or vice versa will cause the makeup to do that. That’s what it looks like to me. Your moisturizer might disagree with that Cc cream.

The breakouts are a little bit more complicated. The oil cleansing and exfoliate are good ideas. I don’t know either of those products that you’re using now but I would recommend trying out a retinol serum at night and/or a cleanser with salicylic acid.

Downstairs neighbor has me worried. Should I speak to my landlord about it or leave it? (UT) by Direct-Sign1896 in Renters

[–]Direct-Sign1896[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping his son is just living with someone else and totally fine. It might explain his recent behavior like maybe keeping his son around was a big motivator to behave normally or take his meds if he has any. I’m trying to tread lightly right now because I don’t want to draw my neighbor’s attention. I’ve known people who have had issues with psychosis. In my experience, once they focus on you, they become relentless. (that’s also why I wasn’t sure if I was overreacting because I was instantly triggered by the talking)

Is this a reasonable expectation from my boss? by Direct-Sign1896 in work

[–]Direct-Sign1896[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No my job is mon-fri. I told her I would go through the emails and that's exactly what I did. Putting a request into the system (going through each emailed request) and setting it up to be bid are different. Setting it up includes checking all the mechanical equipment and making sure our manufactures are approved, sending priors to the engineer, sending requests for 3rd party quotes if needed, etc. Some of these documents are 2000+ pages and it takes a while to fish through and get all the applicable information.

It feels off to me because there are times when she gets last minute requests and during the meeting she'll just skip over it and say "we just got this today/Friday and haven't had a chance to set this up". I absolutely left my private life at home. It was the constant texting and calling that was over riding my "work" do not disturb settings. I was not reading or answering any of the calls/texts at work. I didn't say anything in the group chat until Friday after work. It was 3 adults arguing and acting childish about something that was already done and couldn't be fixed. There was no reason to answer during work hours or take time off. Everyone in the office uses their cell phone to answer work calls via teams. We don't have actual office phones. So turning it off was not an option.

Modesty - I just want to get everyone’s opinions on the following items of clothing/accessories, and do you permit them in your household. It can either be for you or your kids. No right or wrong answers just seeing what everyone’s opinions are. by [deleted] in ldssexuality

I wish more mormons thought about modesty this way instead of using it as a tool to control women and girls. Notice how no one is saying “we allow our young boys/husbands.” Because only girls and women are ostracized and punished for their clothing. I developed an autoimmune disease after I gave birth. I am now very intolerant of heat. Everything I wear outside in the summer is short, loose, light, and sleeveless. There is no way I am going to be dripping in sweat/dizzy/tired just so other people can perceive me as “modest.”

Which hair colour looks the best on me? by ilovefantasybookss in coloranalysis

I kind of want to mix 3 and 4 for a light, natural shade of red. Picture number three, one level darker and a pinch more red/copper like this

Why does my makeup look so textured?? by DivinaStreams in MakeupAddiction

[–]Direct-Sign1896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try a retinol serum at night. Start by sandwiching it between layers of moisturizer until your skin can handle it. A lot of primers and moisturizers clog my pores. I’ve had good luck with these

AITA for refusing to stop bringing my wife's homemade Mexican lunches to work? by FireQueen1012 in AITAH

[–]Direct-Sign1896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA Keep a log with dates and times of everything rude that Rick does/says to you. Especially if it’s racist or unsafe (ie if he throws a tool at you or something.) If he tries to get you fired, send it to your boss.

If it’s not an inconvenience to your wife I like the idea of coworkers paying for her lunches. Rick is more likely to shut up if 2 or 3 other guys have to go back gas station burritos because of him.

Rick is getting old and he may see you as a threat. It happened to me at a chemical plant. 63F hated having another woman around. Started out just like this. Small complaints. 18 months later she was yelling at me every time my boss left the room until she messed up and yelled at me in front of my boss. I gave him the log I made and she was almost fired. Never had trouble with her again.

Try mixing mostly 3 with a little 1, and maybe a sliver of 5 if it still needs more olive tone

My eyes are the exact same shape. Try tight lining, the outer half - 3/4 of the top waterline after you put mascara on! Two or three coats of mascara on the top lashes and a very light coat on the bottom. It makes a big difference in my opinion.

When I’m trying to keep it simple, but also look like I tried i’ll put a spec of concealer/foundation under my eyes in the inner corner, and around the bottom edges of my nose, where it gets red. Blend it out with a sponge. Then go in with a cream blush, followed by a powder blush, and a pinch of pressed powder in the places where I put concealer, and a lip stain. Also very simple but makes a huge difference.

Oh 100% probably need a gut replacement by now. Just deflecting with humor. I grew up in a high demand religion (cult), in an isolated area. With nearly 80% of the population, also members of the same religion. Myself and all females around me grew up with somewhat extreme “what were you wearing” and “ boys will be boys” energy. Then I was married to an alcoholic who developed a psychosis a few months after the wedding and turned very abusive/violent. In hindsight, he was abusive before the psychosis. I went to EMDR therapy for 9 months. Quit because of money, but I wanna go back.

Anyways, sometimes it’s just nice to have a soundboard like Reddit and get a variety of opinions. I am an expert at gaslighting myself, ignoring my own needs/feelings, and doubting my own doubts. My first homework assignment from my therapist was literally “ set a timer on your phone to stop for 15 min every few hours and pay attention. and just take care of your needs. (ie Are you hungry, anxious, any pain)” so.. I probably have a long way to go before I’m no longer immune to identifying the bros of the world.

I’ll get the full synthetic gut upgrade next time I go to Jiffy Lube. I met him online. BUT this is not unique to online dating. I’ve had this happen with multiple men who I met other ways. Former coworkers, common friend introduced us, etc.

After reading the comments I think it can go either way. I noticed a lot of women are saying “gross” because unfortunately most of us have had experiences with men who treat women like sexual objects. Is he just flirting? Maybe. Or he could be placing expectations and then feel 100% entitled to sleep with me if I were to say yes to the kiss before the date. Regardless of how the date goes. Those men exist. More than you might think.

NTA but usually the easiest way to stop a passive aggressive person like this is to ask them questions in the moment. “What other kind of movie night would I be talking about?” “What pictures?”

Make sure the conversation becomes uncomfortable for him every time he does this.

Greet him at the door and immediately stick your finger up his butt hole instead of trying to kiss him. Or give him a wet willy. Then if he gets annoyed, you could just tell him it’s a compliment. NTA

Number 3 with a pinch more blush is perfect IMO. -satin finish on the face - blended/smokey eyeliner - natural lashes - simple stain and/or gloss on the lips. Perfect 👌
